Dark Eldar are raiders, so I guess their big MF would be a creature they captured, they probably aren't interested in building anything gigantic.

Perhaps something between a DE Raider and a Tantalus? If my skills would be good enough I would convert a tad bit bigger Raider/Ravager thing (not for gaming purposes though) that could actually fit in some crew aboard and possibly have a small interior space in it. But with DE it is a bit questionable to go any bigger than what they already have. Wouldn't fit them in my opinnion. Sure they could release an actual Voidraven box and put a huge price tag on it.

With the steady stream of codex releases and the current trend of big "centre piece" models, where we had the Dread knight, recently the Riptide and now the Wraith Knight which looms over its predecessors, would there be any room for other codex’s to release their “big guns” and release a comparatively sized tall/big GW model of these behemoths?

You missed the model that started it - the Trygon, and the models for Tyranids that followed, the Tervigon and Tyrannofex.

Tyranids also have scope for 3 more, if they want to keep mining 2nd edition for ideas.

The Tervigon is basically a reimagined Malefactor, which used to be a transport. But to keep it playing nice with the new aesthetic, it's now a breederbeast.
The Tyrannofex is basically a reimagined Exocrine with the Rupture Cannon, and the other weapons are logical additions to that type of gunbeast frame.

There's two more 'biotanks' left.

The Dactylis, which is a long range artillery beast. Think a Tervigon sized Biovore (in fact, Biovores were created as a way to get the Dactylis units gameplay from Epic into 40k). This would be a good place to put Skyfire for Tyranids on a new unit people will buy - flakk spores. Leave Biovores with the generic anti infantry spore mines, and give Dactylii different types, like anti tank, anti air, anti cover, etc.

The Haruspex. This was a tank sized assault beast. All claws and teeth and no sublety at all. Something like the FW Scythed Heirodule.

Then, outside of the old biotanks, there's some units they can mine from the CCG to reimagine. One is already in the fluff for the Tyranids, for hive fleet Jormungandr. Where they make a huge Trygon-like titan sized beast. That was a Viragon. Pretty much a gargantuan Trygon (yes, I know Trygons were gargantuan when FW did them). Then there's the Cerebore, basically a Trygon transport creature.

So yeah, Tyranids have scope for more huge kits even just going back to the old units. Tyranids, really, should have a large range of monstrous creatures. They are, afterall, Tyranid versions of tanks. The Carnifex is a great alternative to Dreadnoughts, and the Tervigon and Tyrannofex are good attempts at kickstarting the monstrous 'tank' line, but there's definitely room to expand still.

Everybody likes bigger models. Privateer Press started throwing out models on 120mm bases last year and charged around $130 for each of them. They have been wildly successful and I can't help but think that GW took notice. Yes, GW already had some large models out there, but they were few and far between. PP has now released a huge model for 10 of the 11 factions (armies). The rules for them have fit (for the most part) very well into each faction. They are definitely not a autowin button.

The difference here is that GW is starting to throw a ton of rules on these models making them very attractive to take. The Riptide is not quite an auto include, but it's a very, very attractive option. The Dread Knight is a great choice to take for a Grey Knight player. The Tervigon and Trygon are must takes in a bug army. Interestingly, the Forgefiend/Maulerfiend have been just about the only "meh" choices put out by GW. If the rumored rules for the Wraithknight are to be believed, it's going to be an auto include in every Eldar army.

Continuing on with this trend, GW will produce a huge-based model for all the armies in the future. GW will give them very attractive rules to make players buy them, and the cost will go up.

These large models can be the centerpiece of many armies, and can really let modelers go bananas for conversions and painting. The only drawback is the shift in focus from other models and units in an army.

Give me proper cultist box! I'm going to have around 100-175 of them in my army...
