So these are my homebrew rules for my Chapter master, i think they are quite balanced but would like another opinion.

The Red Thirst (all models from an Allied detachment from C:SM exchange combat tactics for this rule) - how i play my chapter is a cross between the 2 codexs so i think it fits better if everyone has this rule instead some having of combat tactics.

Leader of a dying chapter: All models within 12” of Aurelius from C:BA or C:SM may use his leadership value for any leadership or pinning tests. - dont know about the name for this rule.

Survivors of the suicide mission: All models in Aurelius’ squad gain Hatred (Chaos Space Marines + Chaos Daemons + Inquisitors)

Warlord Trait: Legendary Fighter


So how i've done the points is:

125 (base chaptermaster cost from C:SM)
40 for termy armour
45 for the hammers (from the chapter master options, the first one is 20 points, second is 15 and 10 to master craft both of them)
25 for EW
10 for leader of a dying chapter
15 for survivors of a suicide mission
5 for an extra attack
10 for an extra wound

Drop Eternal Warrior. It's what everyone puts on their special character to make them unkillable. but face it, there are not many Eternal Warriors now, and not to be too blunt about it, just some chapter master ain't one of em. You're going to have to accept the fact that your special character has to face the same dangers of almost every other special character in the game.

I'm really confused by your Red Thirst thing. You say at the top that he is a BA character, then you say your codex is some mix (which is questionable as it is). Do they use Blood Angel rules or not? And if it is allied Space Marines, how the heck do they get the Red Thirst? That doesn't make any sense.

Otherwise, seems fine.

I think he means he likes running his army with the Allies rules, but he doesn't want his allied space marines to have Combat Tactics, and for that rule to be replaced with Red Thirst. I think...

So his army is basically 'all Blood Angels', even though its C:BA and C:SM as allies because he thinks the C:SM codex provides him with something that fits his unique chapter better than C:BA, but he doesn't want them to benefit from combat tactics, instead he wants them to have Red Thirst so they tie in better

yeah you got it.

And for the eternal warrior rule, i know what your saying, im working on fluff that can justify it, i may take it off, i may not.
but please tell me this: why can Space wolves buy EW for their characters like wolf lords ? they arent even a CM and they can have it, so why cant the MASTER of a chapter have it ? also lone wolves have EW and they arent even close to being a master of a FULL chapter.

But overall do you think hes balanced for his cost ?

At the start of 5th edition everyman and his dog got eternal warrior. Towards the end of it however and esepcially now in 6th edition it's a much rarer trait, reserved for the most special special characters.

Kharn, Lucius, Typhus and Ahriman each a veteran of 10,000 years of wars, the favoured of their respective god, masters of battle don't have eternal warrior.

It's really not something given out lightly now.

Regarding his balance though yea he seems appropriately costed. If anything i'd say he's too high than too few points but that's a good thing for homebrew characters.

Well, considering the name of the chapter is warp angels, the chapter is dying, and they have a hatred for chaos and inquisitors, I could very easily make an argument for eternal warrior. Besides over here was tricked into some chaos shenanigans or was caught up in some hijinks t led to a warp taint of sorts, and now his chapter is at only five or six companies and they cannot recruit due to inquisitor fastback being all like "no" the so now they are on a penitent crusade because otherwise the black templars would kill them all.

Bam.

Extra points for balancing your character and paying the appropriate costs for each stat and rule. I would not hesitate to let you play him against me, I think he is perfect at 275.
