Spoiler:
The Legion of the Damned are silent warriors whose black power armor is adorned with chilling images of bone and fire. Considered by some to be an extension of the Emperor's superhuman will, an eerie glow suffuses their ebony armor and their weapons discharge flaming projectiles that can pierce the strongest of armour. Damned Legionnaires appear only in times of greatest need and, with chill precision, turn disaster into victory. The Legion of the Damned are a legendary and mysterious force of Adeptus Astartes. Holding the forms of ghostly and ethereal Space Marines plated in black power armour adorned with death imagery, they unexpectedly appear from nowhere to help Imperial forces in times of great need. The truth behind their origin is currently unknown for certain, but Inquisitorial investigations have drawn a link between them and the lost Fire Hawks Chapter.

i was thinking for starters all marines replace chapter tactics with the following rules.

crusader, FNP, IWND, relentless, fear, fearless, FC,

@ moty. Probably a solid 125 points for a single marine.

Do you see the folly in giving IWND to 1 wound models? Or are you just grabbing special rules by the handful and throwing them in there?

I could understand /Maybe/ fear for 18-22pts standard tac marine, but seriously even that may be pushing it. But to make these models unkillable, and especially on 1 wound models is a fething joke! Seriously, I'd not even bring my army to play! You need to think more along the lines of what is one REASONABLE rule that REASONABLY fits a model/unit for A REASONABLE point cost. Not feth it, these guys are primarchs OP'd x10

How to make a fan-dex, by Blacksails.

1. Open rule book to USR section.
2. Label each USR with a number
3. Roll an appropriate dice (likely a D6 as the 'tens' value, and a D10 for the 'ones' value, giving you between 1-60)
4. Apply the USR rolled to the custom army
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary to accumulate a minimum of four additional army wide rules
6. Apply rules to army at no point cost increase
7. ???

Very similar to my process. I look at the special rule page and close my eyes. I then pick ten special rules, which I put on random weapons I make up. This is per character. For the Army-wide rules, I make up the most complicated ones I can. For instance, one codex I'm writing has a rule where if a model dies, you need to roll a Ld test on 3D6. If you pass, then the character needs to roll a D6 against the model that killed it and add that to the toughness. If yours is higher, the model stands back up with 2D3-1+2 wounds remaining. If this causes the model to not come back t life, do it again. If you fail the first 3D6 Ld test, the entire unit must take a toughness test, then add 3d3. if the total is greater than the number of models in the unit, than they all gain 2D6-D3+2 wounds, It Will Not Die, Feel No Pain (3+), and Undying, a rule i made up up where any model that isn't not dead in the last four turns of the game doesn't not gain no bonuses of D3x2 to all stats.
