...I have succumbed to the great intelligence controlling the faction of ALEPH.
Basically I finally bought my first figures (Now the long wait for them to arrive x_x).

I bought the Starter pack and the Posthumans with intentions to add a Support Pack once these are close to being finished (assembled + paint). The local game store has Gamer craft night on Tuesdays so I'm hoping to pick up some painting tips there to help with that. (Heroscape spoiled me with pre-painted miniatures).

The plan is to base my lists off Asura and the Posthumans. This was an initial list I drafted up for 200 points as a start (can also be adjusted for lower or higher point values).

I would like to grow the game in this area though and after play testing with my brother I plan on putting on demo's at the local store. However I need another army to go up against this one. Before I committed to ALEPH I was also considering:

Haqq (for the Lasiq Sniper. They also seem fairly easy to understand aside from Fiday)
CA (For the camo units, & Anthematic though he's obviously not ideal at low point values though),
Nomads (Had various lists, mostly Bakunin stuff involving Reverend Custodiars. Would love to play Kusanagi if I didn't think her sculpt was odd)
Tohaa (Hate the way their race looks but their armor looks soooo good)
Pan O (Hexas + Aux bots or Military order)


Anyways with those 5 factions in mind what would be a solid army for this to go up against? I'm looking for ideas as I'd like something that I could also develop as I plan on taking this as my secondary faction.

Haqqislam or Ariadna would be a cool adversary for ALEPH: extremely hi-tech versus extremely low tech. Nomads are also the arch-nemesis of the ALEPH, and CA is a threat to everyone and the typical bad guy in this game so that will be cool as well. PanO is also popular for beginners because of high BS, but they're too closely related to ALEPH to offer a good contrast for intro games.

For demo games, I will just get the models from the faction that you think looks the coolest! You'll have more incentive in painting them well (as opposed to just getting ones for ease of use, because you can always proxy!). Cool-looking models will grab more attention at first than a good game, although a good game will make them stay.

In the end, I vote Haqqislam: not only because I collect that range but also because it offers a nice contrast both in gameplay and looks.

Another vote for Haq (for the reasons given by Heartserenade above), probably my first and favourite faction.

Haqqislam also wouldn't be as complicated to teach/learn as a mostly camo Shavasti list. Though I do think the Shavasti have some of the coolest looking models. If they scaled better at lower points I might consider them over Haqq.
