I thought it would be cool to see what people listen to as they paint. Obviously there is Pandora, but I enjoy listening to youtube videos, netcasts, etc. Twit.tv has some good netcasts that pass the time, but i'd love to hear about more stuff too!
Music, tv shows, movies or nothing.
Music wise I find anything too lively that I really enjoy is a bit too much, as I can get tempted to dance a lil which isnt necesserily good for the painting being done.
Tv shows work best when its something ive seen before or something i have little interest in. I find looking up at a screen and back down the the model a bit tricky, after a while my eyes get slower at refocusing back to the model which means i usualy have to stop a this point. I find that if i dont keep glancing at the screen then this doesnt happen nearly as quickly.
'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!
My iTunes library with like 10,000 songs in it... but when I paint, i usually gravitate towards my favorites... Lots of Dinosaur Jr., Bad Religion, Murder By Death. I also like to listen to music that is easy to "get lost in"; Pelican, Mogwai, Earth, Isis and the sort, lots of instrumental stuff.

They're sending posters that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing strawmen. They're bringing spam. They're trolls. And some, I assume, are good people."
Audiobooks. I enjoy painting for hours on end, and nothing beats listening to classic fiction whilst doing so.
Perhaps the best gift I've ever received was the complete Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy audiobook. Took weeks of listening time, and kept me laughing all the way through it.

Music, Audiobooks, Let's Plays
Music - I usually listen to OSTs of games. Having a blast with Ar Tonelico's lately.
Audiobooks - Either some of GWs or Lovecraft's work
Let's play - What I most often hear tbh. There are a lot of games I wished I had the time to actually play so I listen to a lot of let's play while I paint. When I did play the game, I rarely look at the screen. Recently, a very rare ocasion happened where I couldn't stop watching, I completely forgot about the painting. Nier is just one helluva depressing game and Helloween's Let's Play was amazing.

Typically put on a playlist consisting of Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Infected Mushrooms, and occasionally some Amon Amarth (the head banging makes painting difficult).

Brilliant. Is my line.
I can do anything. I like podcasts, tv, movies...
Music, I'm listening to woodkid at the moment, although I'll listen to almost anything while painting, and can put up a decent conversation while painting, too.
I'm always amazed at what different people consider relaxing vs. distracting. Music, for me, is nice background noise, while a show/movie, podcast, or audiobook would be distracting. I can let lyrics drift past me without issue, but when all of the content is conveyed through speech, it seems like there's no point if you aren't focusing on it. My fiancee, though, will burn through season after season of shows (mostly ones she's already watched, but sometimes new ones, too), without a glance at the screen or even a pause to really listen. I can't fathom how those sounds are more enjoyable than music, at least if they aren't being used to convey content, but it works for her. Different strokes, I guess.

For me its blues, garage blues, rock and roll. Nothing to heavy otherwise I lose concentration........... a word of warning black sabbath, iron maiden and the likes are not good painting music lol
For me its, TV shows, iplayer or a movie. Although at the moment i'm really enjoying the 40k audiobooks. I can rip through entire tv series in a few days, where as a good sized audiobook can keep me going for a good month.
I find music is distracting as i'm always tapping or humming along with the songs.
For me its a way to kill two birds with one stone, I've aways wanted to read the horus heresy books but struggle with time, so the audiobooks let me paint and listen (read) at the same time.

Where do you get your audio books from? I've got to say I have the age old problem of to much to paint to little time to read lol.
