I put these together with my 7 year old son. He also helped with the base coat. I finished the details. I have no plans to base them as of yet. C&C please

That's a pretty nice looking squad. But for a costume chapter, they're very close to blood angels colors.
Overall the paint job is pretty good, very good if you consider that it's a red paint job. There are a few things you could do to improve your painting. First you need to paint over the red with a base coat before you put on the top coat. I can still see red beneath all the gold and silver. I can also see the red beneath the purity seal. For gold you can base with brown, silver you can use black, and for the purity seal brown again.
The thigh panels are barely visible. They simply blend in with the rest of the armor and you lose detail. Try using a black wash here, and then when dry, go back over it with the red to clean up the area.
See the difference in this WIP picture? Look at the one in the far left versus the middle one.

This pic actually provides another point I was going to bring up. The helmet looks incomplete. Paint the metal mouth respirator pieces in black, then metal. Same thing for the eyes. I can see you painted the blue right on top of the red. There's no defining point to the lenses. If you see the pic above he painted the eyes black first. This allows for a natural 'border' that clearly defines the lenses.
This is more of a personal preference rather than painting critique, but I think that should paint your guns black or solid metal. I think there's too much red with the guns and the sword. Different colored weapons will break up all the red.

Look great to me! I think they're similar to Blood Angels, but distinct enough that they aren't just a knock-off. Great work! Although those shoulder pads cry out for a chapter symbol of some kind.

If you don't want to steal one of the standard chapter symbols and use it as your own (inverting a standard one is a tried and true favorite for generating new ones!) you can always get decal paper and print your own. A little Micro Sol/Micro Set later, and you've got a sweet looking model! Well, sweet-er!

Thanks for the review guys! My son picked the color scheme. he wanted red, black and gold. I mixed blood red with blazing orange and I think it came out quite well. My son has dubbed them the Skull Brother Chapter. So yea a nice big grinning skull would fit nicely on the shoulder pad.

They are looking awesome, personally I would add a little more gold in to the mix, even if its to the jump packs just to draw the eye....... we all know that every 40k painter is. Magpie by heart and shiney is the key lol.
