Another game of AWI using Maurice, and possibly the best game of Maurice we have had to date. A real to and fro encounter, with first the Americans gaining the upper hand with an aggresive defence, taking a forward position lining the fence along the turnpike and destroying the first British line with concentrated musket fire. But the British Guards and Grenadiers advanced through the smoke and corpses to impact the American line and close quarters fighting broke out along the fence line. Slowly the British gained the upper hand and several American units fled, but two units of French regulars were on hand to plug the gaps and valiantly held the line... They held just long enough for the British Army morale to crumble, but only just... The American army was left with only four morale points at the end! A close run thing and a real nail biting game!

Maurice at its best!

Also the first use of our lovely new hills made by Sean... A cracking job!

As an American, it took me a couple moments to realize AWI meant American War for Independence. We always just called it the Revolutionary War. Kinda like the Civil War in the southern states is called the War of Northern Aggression.

Anyway, great models! If I wasn't tied up in Ancients and my own sci-fi work, I would start up gun-powder era stuff. Give Sean my compliments, the hills look amazing.

I'm from the future. The future of space

Fantastic pictures. That's exactly how I want my miniature games to look.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Cool looking game.

Can you tell me a bit more about how the Morale points work in Maurice and do you know if it is the same or different for Lasalle and Longstreet?
