Whilst perusing the FW download section, I saw the experimental rules for the repressor transport. It got me thinking about what would happen if the Sororitas were shifted over to a Forge World army. Resin miniatures would be better than the current metal models, and probably be more economical for the company than releasing plastics that may not sell enough units. I think that a decent attempt at an IA book that covers the Ecclesiarchy would be better than the current WD "codex", which isn't even really available now.

Does this seem a possibility to anyone else? It would be better than the Sisters being dropped completely, although I imagine there would be some people who would object to being moved from a mainstream codex army to a Forge World supported one, what with all of the arguments that FW seems to cause.

Of course, one experimental rule set is a long way from a full army list, but it at least seems like a possibility to me.

Personally I'd be unhappy with this, since GW and other players can be weird about FW sometimes.

Wouldn't want to give anybody the chance to simply refuse to fight my nuns. The cowards.

Not no, but hell no. Don't toss my army back into FW where it'll be even harder to play and slower to update.

Why would resin be better than metal? I agree that another IA book with Ecclesiarchy would be good to have but why replace the current book?

Better than dropping entirely, meh, kinda. Better than current state? Only if we aren't forced to use it and it is an option.

They would work as a GW list if they'd pull their heads out and release a proper codex.

We've only ever had one proper codex and that was 2nd edition. I would love a new codex but the history just doesn't support it. :(

But the SoB were seperated out again. And given that the Grey Knights will likely be keeping the Inquisition stuff, i'd say we have a somewhat decent chance of getting a solo book.

On moon miranda.

If attitudes towards FW weren't so weird I'd have no issues with it, though I'd rather FW be for variant armies not core lists, I fully believe armies like Blood Angels and Space Wolves and the upcoming Iyanden book belong with Forgeworld if they must have their own army lists.

The biggest issue honestly is that that "codex" title on the book makes all the difference in the world to some people. you can take a relatively benign forgeworld unit and some people will refuse to play against it, while simultaneously they'll have no issues playing against something far more powerful and cost effective and abuseable if it's in a Codex. That would greatly affect the playability of Sisters of Battle even more than their already hard to find White Dwarf rules do.

But really, I think they could work and if it meant they got a real update I'd be all for it.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

On the positive side the HH team should be making sisters of silence for the Horus Heresy game at some point, given how long the SoB have been waiting for new models its entirely likely that the resin SoS models will come out first as fantastic standins.

The only things that Sisters of Silence have in common with Battle sisters are the word Sisters and they hunt witches ( on occasion for SoB). They really don't bear much resemblance to one another in terms of aesthetics either.

WD codexes are specifically meant as stop-gaps, though. Hopefully, we'll get something in the near-ish future.

And again, we've been getting WD codexes for 15 years (with the exception of Codex: Big Black Book when 3rd launched and C:WH both of which were not really sisters codexes). One real codex and 3 or 4 WD ones over that time.

It's not much of one given its general unavailability. At least legally. Still we've hit the 2 year mark with that codex just about so we will see if a new one comes up in a year or so. I've only been waiting myself for about 6 years for a better replacement to my beloved Sisters as that's how long I've been playing. I recognized right away the difficulty in playing the WH codex, and the same is holding true for the WD version. The codex can perform as it is, but it needs some flexibility and room for error. Right now a couple of bad dice rolls or a single bad move can leave you in lurch. They just aren't that forgiving of a codex to play.

Not to cross post, but FW just made them a bit more forgiving. AV13 Repressor for 75 points. lol

Right now I'm not really sure that's much help, but I haven't tried it yet. I might start putting my troops in one as well as my Command squad when I field one. There doesn't tend to be a lot of room for 40 extra points in my lists over the much cheaper Rhino.
