Good morning folks.
I've been lurking here for several weeks now, looking over galleries and digging for information on painting tips and trick (more on why in a minute) and generally getting a feel for the forum.
This is one of the better forums I've run across over the years in terms of quality of people and information.

I'm here for Warhammer 40K reasons. I've been aware of the game since it's first edition but have never actually played the game itself. Lots of other games, minatures, rpg's and board games galore. However SpaceHulk was as close as I've come to playing full bore 40K in the last 20 years.

A couple years ago I was watching some friends play some 40K and I started browsing through some of codex's they had. Thus began my downfall.
I commented that I might be interested in playing at some point so one of the group gave me one of his Codex's to further corrupt... I mean so I could do some more research and see if it would really appeal to me.

Frankly the cost was prohibitive but my friends had a surplus of armies between them so trying it out would not be a problem. So the last time I was visiting I commented that I thought I'd like to start playing. The Lord High Corrupter ... I mean my friend with the surplus of codex's looked at me and said: "Ok, let's make this easy." and handed me two boxes and a small suitcase.

So I now have an Eldar army, mostly unpainted. Which brings me to DakkaDakka, the best source for tips on game play and model assembly/painting that I've found anywhere online.
