Ok so here's the story, my good friend has beaten me twice with his Knights. The first time he got me by surprise with 1850 and bringing two DreadKnights which pretty much took out half my Necrons. We just played a second game of 1500 a couple of days ago and I was prepared for two Dreads only this time he had brought 3

To be honest I was just playing for fun but he likes to run strong Tournament lists just not as competitive. So now I'm thinking no more Mr. Nice guy and just bring the pain

I just wanted some advice or tips that you guys might have. I own pretty much the entire Necron army (except Triarch Praetorians) and can run a full squad of anything. I'm a hardcore fan of Warriors but those darn Incinerators make short work of them so I think it's time to bring out my Legions of Immortals, all 30 of them. I was thinking of bringing a Stalker, Monolith, Doomsday Ark and a full unit of Wraith and Deathmarks since they killed one Dreadknight in one shooting phase

So any tips would be great, I plan to play soon and maybe do my first Battle Rep ever.

Best tip leave the Monolith on the shelf. take a second doomsday arc over the Monolith.

But wraiths are where it is at. 6 Wraiths will make light work of a Dread Knight. They will hit first as long as you give a couple of them Whip coils. And if you plow 6 wraiths into one you will be getting 18 attacks, 24 on the charge. All with rending. they are the best unit for crowd control as well. They will also make light work of Terminators/ paladins. Especially with there 3+ INV save.

In addition, I'd be inclined to take Lanceteks in your warrior squads. AP2 invalidates the armour save.

If the dreadknights seem to go after your troops, make sure they each have a Lord in them (MSS, SW, Warscythe). Seeing a Dreadknight fail a MSS test is a beautiful thing.

Beyond that, as Cerbrus2 said - Wraiths are decent at taking them down though I, personally, have had some bad luck with dice and have experienced what happens when they DON'T work out well.

Lanceteks and Heavy Destroyers can be useful against them; however, not as effective as Wraiths in terms of number of AP2 hits for the cost. One of the guys that plays at the store I frequent swears by a full unit of Praetorians with Voidblades in order to address MCs; however, that's 400pts (500+ when using a Destroyer Lord with them) that detract from units that address other types of threats. His main rationale for Praetorians over Wraiths is the Entropic Strike and Rending the Voidblades have. Admittingly, I am a bit surprised how well he does in the games I've seen and in the fact that his Praetorians don't immediately die from just having a normal 3+ save.

I also agree with Cerbus2 in that Monoliths aren't the answer here.

What exactly did the DK do that caused all the problems? Was it just the teleport shunt and the flamer? Taking three DK is a bucket load of points. If he didn't put teleporters on them, then that makes them slow. If he did that's over 700 points in DK.

Which means he's either running Henchmen or he had very few troops. The best option is to use wraiths to kill the troops first, then take out the GK.
