This guy is a new player and a friend of mine.
Would like to see a necron player offer him some advice in adjusting his list with what he should take to improve his game.

If he wanted it to be more powerful then the obvious suggestion would be night scythes and anni barges; exchange warriors from each squad for a night scythe for each and use them as objective cappers, but then that makes the stalkers twin-linking kind of redundant.

However, I love seeing lists that aren't the stereotypical trinity anni barge/wraiths/night scythes (combined with command barge/dest lord/immortals).

Having Imotekh in addition to an OL and a Lord seems redundant when you could put crypteks into squads instead with some cool toys.

The list is based obviously around the triarch stalkers and twin-linking, although I feel like it'd probably need more AT tools besides glancing to death, but that's just me.

It all depends on what you have access to and how you want to play.

Imotekh, for me, is one of those units that either fails you or wrecks things. If lord of the storm carries on for four turns and you are lucky with your rolls it can do a lot of damage. I've had it fail after turn one as well, then he is no longer worth the 225 you spent on him. If you really like him, give him a chronotek. That way you can reroll a failed extension of night fighting.

If you are going to foot slog warriors, you really should have resorbs with them. RP is nice but in units that large resorbs more than make up for their cost.

A few things to think about, at 1500 av13 av14 is very likely and so are flyers/FMC. Your defense for high av is gauss fire and one stalker shot.(make sure to hit with the stalker first for that TL gauss fire) Your AA, lord of the storm and pray you can roll enough double sixs to glance a flyer to death. ( but remember if you shoot all you troops at a flyer and don't down it, you have the rest of their army grinning at you)

I would find a way to get an Annihilation Barge or two in this list, (if you have access) they will help you with just about everything other than av13/14

Knowing what you have access to, and your style will help folks give better input.

When I played him, he took one of those and attatched it to that squad. It worked well. Not sure why he hasn't included it in this list.
He has all the models listed above, aswell as about 15 scarab bases. I think he's looking to see what models to buy next as well as the advice on how to run his current units.
(Sorry to cut in - just wanted to offer up some help)

A couple things that could make the list a bit better.

As another had said, Res Orbs are worth the points with larger (imo 15+ models) of Warriors. At a minimum though, I would highly recommend having a lord in each squad with MSS, SW, and Warscythe (75pts/lord). MSS and Warscythe are staples of awesomeness; however, the 2+ save from SW adds a lot of great tanking ability for a unit plagued by their 4+ save. Put the Lords in front of the squad and let them tank as many hits as possible - hopefully it'll save a decent amount and stand up. In the games that I've played with this strategy recently, the 15pts I use for the Weaves have been a far better investment than the Res Orbs on my basic troops. Having more MSS, Scythes, and 2+ saves will help in the event of getting into CC with a MC.

I haven't used Imotekh enough to provide suggestions for him; however, if you dropped him, you'd have enough points for the additional lords.

For a foot slogging list like this, I like the idea of having 2 Stalkers. I have only played lists with 1 but would be curious to see how 2 goes. If you could bump both to use the HGC that would help in terms of range as well as anti-tank.

I would love to hear how the list does overall. I would probably make a few other adjustments; however, without knowing what the OP has in addition to this list makes it difficult. And again, just generally curious on how this would perform.

Are the other lists he's playing against competitive lists? Is this list getting wiped every time?

It would be helpful to have a bit more idea what sort of tweaking he'd like done (also if he wants to buy new models).

working with just this list, I might do something like this.

Immotekh
Chrono tek
2x necron lords with resorbs and MSS

Stalker x 2 - One with TL heavy gauss cannon the other with heatray. Its extra punch for anti av and template to intercept those coming in for assaults.

T1 Warrior x20
T2 Warrior x20
T3 Warrior x 5
T4 Immortals x10 with tesla

The crono and Immotekh with the immortals. Using rerolls per phase as needed.

Nlords with the 20 man warrior blobs. Gave them MSS in case of a challenge. Resorbs of course...

5 man warrior is a reserve walk on for back objective.

The TL stalker sits back a little and paints your main targets. The heatray one up between the warrior units. There to intercept anything overly annoying( he is a walker so assaults on the side armor giving av13 takes some hard hitters to even damage him)

As for what to buy, I would work on getting a couple of ABs and Night Scythes to start. Wraiths will always be a plus as well ( with a destoryer lord)

Excellent. GREAT combos there.

Stalkers : With that many warriors, twin linking them will be awesome. So, definitely try and get one into the list (two would be better). Use it with the HGC, to give you extra range, sit it at the back of the blobs and link away! If a nasty CC unit gets close, assault it with the walker.

For a CC unit/tarpit, you have a choice between Scarabs (which I personally think are fantastic for their points) or the DLord with the Preatorians. If using Scarabs, take 8-10 bases and use them as a screen for the warriors. (Don't literally screen the blob, obviously, just lurk in cover near the blobs and leap out when ready. I haven't played the Praetorians yet (just assembling mine) but hear that they can do good things with a DLord. Take a res orb on the D Lord.

Imotekh : Now his lightning is cool when it works, but really he is expensive. Also with all the shooting you have, making it night may hurt you more. Think about using the model as Zandhrek instead. His buffs (and debuffs to the opponent) can literally change the game.

If you want to expand your list of models, I would suggest you get a ghost ark. These support walking warriors better (because you can use it for cover and it can regenerate).

For heavy support, your first choice will be Anni barges. However, as you have no vehicles at all at the moment, if you are not into vehicles, get Spyders instead. Spyders, Scarabs and Zandhrek are a great combo.

your army is based around abusing the TL factor on the stalkers and they warriors/immortals. Immo is the one HQ that you don't want in your list as his SRs literally counter what you are wantign to do. Not to mention since Tau are brand new right now, they basically ignore NF altogether, so that only further hinders you. Definitely drop him before anything else
