Ghostglaives, in my opinion.
That extra attack is invaluable, and you want to make use of their decent initiative.

My only problem is the lack of an invulnerable save, as I am planning to use these guys to kill enemy lychguard/triarch praetorians.

It depends on what you're using them for.
I don't think that it's a good idea to put them in a Wave Serpent - that's means the minimum that they'll make it into assault by is usually turn 3, which isn't great.
I'd go for the Axe/Shield combo for the 5++ and use them as a bodyguard for your HQ, maybe bump them up to 7/8 guys for security.
I still think that Wraithguard are superior in every way.

If you're tailoring something to fight something, then it's always different. I'd take Scatter Lasers on my Wave Serpents any day, but if I knew my opponent was bringing as many AV 14/14/14 Vehicles as he could, I'd probably take BLs instead.
So whilst an invun might be useful against lychguard, in an all-comers list, I would rely on their 3+ save, their T6, Warlock/Spiritseer powers and the fact they can potentially strike first before their enemy, to keep them alive.

That's until they get nuked by a Helldrake, IG Shooting, DEldar Dark Lance spam etc.

I do not know 100% that he will take lychguard/triarch, but I know he has them and might take them. I am really wondering if the better strength and 5++ save is more valuable than going first and having an extra attack agaist aforementioned ememies

Your Wraithguard will get equally nuked by all that.
Also, if all those things goes after the Wraithblades with Ghostswords, it means they are not shooting at your tanks/scoring units. Wraithblades also beat every single CC or non- CC unit that does not have 2+ armour saves in close combat. They also murder T6 MCs which happen to be most of them.

I think it depends.
Do you need them to be able to kill stuff that is in numbers and doesn't ignore their 3+ armor?: Glaives
Do you want a more durable unit to take on enemy elites?: Axes and Shields
Its really a bummer you can't take both in the same squad.

Well, I'd mount them in a Serpent, otherwise, the unit would be too slow. Moreover, in cc, they need an invulnerable save for durability.

I'd go for option 2. I like the idea of getting a flurry of AP3 attacks at I4. It's not as if the book is lacking in AP2 elsewhere.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics. |

While I voted glaives, I'd field a second squad with axe/shields as its a great option to have. To bad we can't mix the two.

I don't see the appeal of the axes. Invulnerable save is nice, but one attack is just too weak for any CC unit. They can be tarpitted by big units, and despite ap2 terminators will crush them anyway. I think swords are just overall better. They will kill PA marines and are not horrible against big units either.
