I don't want to sound like an a$$, but I believe a generic Necron Overlord with MSS and Warscythe would tear those guys a new one

Abaddon wins. Just do the math.

Iirc, the only one who cold convincingly beat abaddon was the swarm lord, who's not an IC.

Edit: and the over lord does quite well. Surprisingly left off the list in the poll.

because none of the Named OLords are any good. The best one is Obyron, due to 2+ & a possible 10 attacks on the charge

Actually, add him to the poll. Its the one guy where I2 is in his favour, so he can clock up counterstrikes. WS6 means he is a match for most of anybody

Trazyn the infinite, while certainly not able to go toe to toe with most CC beatsticks still has MSS so he has at least a chance of the oposing character killing himself, and he will absolutely butcher hordes due to emphatic obliterator. and he's scoring, and he is very very very hard to kill permanently due to reanimation protocols, and surrogate hosts. in a game you have to pretty much kill the whole rest of the army to knock out all the crypteks, lords etc he could replace

He counts as one if he's got guard with him. I understand not wanting to put a clear winner in here though. Give everyone else a chance.

You know who actually benefited a great deal from the new challenge rules, that I still never see used? Cassius. T6 with re-rolls on the charge, plus Feel No Pain? Sign me up.

But I voted Abaddon.

Well I've seen abadon stand up to a titan, briefly, before being flattened by blood angel terminators. Still it was inspiring.

In my experience I've got to say that Calgar has done an admirable job on the table. He's killed enough demon princes and won enough challenges for me to vote for him in this.

These are all named characters and that annoys me.

For me the toughest character has to go to Darnath Lysander. The most effective in Challenges is easily karandras. The most irritating is the Necron Shacklelord and the most well rounded would be Kaldor Draigo.

The part of the new apoc book with the 'finest hour' rules expands on this a little - He fought them on the ground and beat the swarm by killing(shooting) every single synapse creature they had

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.
