Just trying to picture the best way to capitalize on his 4++. Aside from allying IG.

Parking him with blobs is generally the best use of it as it gets traditional anti-MEQ tactics butt mad. It's especially good against heldrakes because it turns a unit wipe into under half of them dying.

I tend to run him stock, without any of his additional wargear.

Just throw him in a ten man tac squad and keep em all together? Or maybe even a dev squad with flakk on a quad gun to protect your assets against heldrakes ?

If you don't want it to die to traditional "feth your cover camping marines!" tactics, then yes, put Azrael with them!

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

If I was going to take him, in a Drop Pod and put him right up front in the thick of things. Between him and a Standard of Devastation you should have some fun in the enemy deploy zone.

Not for capitalizing on 4++ but for pure close combat carnage i ride in Land Raider with squad of Terminators. Actually I've done it once. It did work. Slain some daemons.

Azrael's Inner Circle special rule gives him the Fearless special rule. So the -D3 leadership is not going to change anything as the fearless gets conveyed to any squad he joins.
