Hey all,

I've recently thrown together an Eldar list using the models that I'm a big fan of, particularly the new wraith sculpts/units, without going full blown wraith army. Here's what I've come up with:

Farseer 100
Spiritseer 70

5 Wraithblades 280
Ghost swords
• Wave Serpent: twin-linked bright lance.

20 Guardian Defenders: 2× Heavy Weapon Platform (bright lance). 255
• Warlock

20 Guardian Defenders: 2× Heavy Weapon Platform (bright lance). 255
• Warlock

20 Guardian Defenders: 2× Heavy Weapon Platform (bright lance). 220

10 Dire Avengers 250
• Wave Serpent: twin-linked bright lance.

5 Warp Spiders: Warp Spider Exarch (spinneret rifle). 120

3 War Walkers: 3× scatter laser; 3× scatter laser. 210

Wraithknight 240
2,000 points

Spirit seer goes with Wraithblades in the Wave serpent. Dire Avengers and Wraithblades are used to fill gaps in my line and as a fast reaction force. Most of the lists I've been playing against in my LGS have been chaos/marine/tau, and I'm wondering how this list would work against those armies. Not sure if I need the wraithblades in this list. I like the models, and I feel like this list needs a "dedicated" assault unit, so I threw them in there. Wraithguard are also another alternative to them, and I can just melt everything with my shooting. I've also been toying with the idea of dropping the Wraithblades for a larger striking scorpion squad and inflitrating them/scouting war walkers for a push first turn.

Thanks!

I'm new to Eldar, so take my comments with salt. But you probably have too many bright lances. I think you could afford to exchange some for starcannons to get some AP3 dakka. Also, scatter lasers on the wave serpents for laser lock. What are you going to do for AA?

Other wise, I really like that you have 60 guardians. Nothing bad about that at all.

Getting a warlock into each guardian squad might be nice, giving them 5+ cover would be awesome in my opinion.

I would bright lance the warwalkers instead and make the wave serpents scatter laser so they can twin link the serpent shield. It is very good at bringing down aircraft. They also do very good at horde duty being twin linked ignore cover pinning.

holofields for serpents as well.

this also puts all your lances in one unit that can be guided easily.

Here is how I propose it

Drop 1 unit of guardians to 10? or all the way

lets you do the swaps the warlocks, holofields, and maybe another set of 5 warpspiders

I'd recommend putting Scatter lasers on the serpents, to make the serpent shield and shuricannon twin linked. Give them holofields too. You really want these.

Also, change the War Walkers so that they are each armed with a Scatter laser and a Starcannon. This makes the starcannon twin linked, and still gives you a high volume of fire.

I'd almost recommend dropping the warlocks to squeeze these things in. I've found warlocks to be highly underwhelming.

Thanks for the replies all. I originally planned to use the warlocks as conceal bots to boost the survivability of my guardian squads. I decided to change the wraithblades to wraithguards with cannons. Guide/prescience should make that squad a decent way to take out flyers if needed.

List seems pretty good, you might want to think about anti air a bit more though.
