Are there any good alternative models for this game? Greatly appreciated if they are still in the 40k style.
My basic reason for this is it honestly seems foolish (even by GW standards) to spend so much money on such a small piece of plastic.

I recently got into BFG and thought the same thing just couldnt really find a good alternative,

I got all my ships off of ebay, and dakka's swap shop if you dont mind fixing them up or stripping paint you can find some decent deals online

All do spaceships in a similar scale to each other. You might even find someone doing ships very similar to the BFG ones on Shapeways.

Some are more recognisable from other universes (Star W*rs, Star Tr*k, Babylon *, etc) but often have alien/imperial types just without the ridiculous flying castle stylings of the GW stuff.


I use GZG/Eureka Neu Swabian ships for my SM BFG fleet.
They are blocky and more reminiscent of the Alexei Leonov (2010) than the GW flying castle - but they DO have little eagles on them (death chickens).

They are my "His imperial majesties' enforcers of doctrinal policy" fleet.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
