I like how this is a crowdfunding project to get you onto.... Kickstarter.

I am looking for a small amount to help get the ball rolling with this idea and present it, hopefully, within the next year on Kickstarter!

To be honest I think you need to bring more to the table than "I have an idea".

You are asking money for an "idea" that you have? That you haven't specified at all?

I literally can't think of a less substantial project that could be asking for funding. You need to do some serious rethinking.

The issue is, I think that people can take this idea for themselves. Why would I put all of my information out there for someone else to take and make?

This sounds pretty much exactly like the Comfy Chair game "Dominion of the Gods" (that failed to fund via Kickstarter) and "Of Gods and Mortals" by Osprey that will be coming out in October.

Not trying to kick your puppy here, but you might want to do just a bit more research before starting a crowd funding campaign for something like this.

You should at least have completed, formatted draft of the game to be able to present before even consider asking for funds. Art is expensive, but writing things down and editing them only require time and discipline. I encourage you to try and make this game a reality, but this is way, way to earlier in the development of it to even think of asking strangers (or others really) for money.

PS, the short info paragraph sounds like you read Age of Ra by James Love grove and wanna make the background into a game.

You are very right. I should have more of the game done. I think I am just wanting things to go faster than they should, but I feel like if I don't do this now, it wont ever happen.

HisDivineShadow- I have not read that book at all. Was laying down in bed and the idea came to me.

Other small companies present a game and then ask for money. Like Godslayer or Crocodile Games.

Sorry man but your an "idea guy", and idea guys are a dime a dozen. The no-talent bum who actually makes sculpts and crap for his unremarkable game is far more likely to get my money than an idea guy.

I say wait for 3D printers and then learn how to use them. Produce your rules and some 3D printer model schematics for free and then use the cred you get from that to launch a 'proper' game or get donations and gak.

The whole industry is gonna be dead in a few years anyway unless they convert to a model like this IMO, might as well get the first mover advantage.
