Francoise tries to finally get the drop on Reecius' Eldar in this bat rep. You can also see the great looking IG army we recently completed for a client.

Great bat rep! I'd love to see you try taking swooping hawks, I really like them and I was wondering what you thought.

Methinks I need to play against your eldar one of these days.

BTW, I played against Blackmoor and his footdar list with 20 warp spiders.

That was absurd. I thought the Eldar were going to have a much, much harsher time just based on the list. I wasn't even sure they'd tie in this match up. Lady Luck can be a fickle **** I guess.

Love to see the Wraithknight doing well again. I still think the Suncannon is better for my army though, since it's made up of Wraithguard and Lords. I do agree in most cases the normal cannons would be better though.

Glad to see the Warp Spiders doing well again. Once I get my Wraiths all painted up, I intend to start fleshing my army out with some Aspect warriors to make a Biel-Tan force, though they'll primarily be Dark Eldar allies.

Thanks for sharing.

20 Warpspiders ouchie, that is going to hurt, altough it depends against what he was playing...

Cool report, I enjoyed it. I don't really know much about IG, since no one in our group uses them (it's a cool, dystopian future with aliens, super soldiers and daemonically enhanced troops... why use the regular guys?).

And my hat totally goes off to Frankie, he's an awesome sport, and totally took it like a champ.

Re the wraithknight. It's very impressive, no doubt about it. It's good, but is it 2x wave serpents good?

Yeah, this should have been a much tougher game for me, but the dice were with me. When I seized, it was a game, when Frankie failed to hit me hard his turn 1, it was over.

The Wraithknight is awesome for my list. He provides a lot of answers my list otherwise lacks.

20-30 Warp Spiders I think will be a pretty common tournament list. They are just so good that a lot of players will load up on them and find that they smash a lot of people fairly easily.

Eldar have all the tools they need to win a tournament. Their only bad match-ups are: Venom Spam, Barrage IG, Double/Triple Dragon Chaos and possibly Tau. I haven't tried them against Tau yet but I think that will be a rough match.

I'm not so sure spydar-spam will be a dominant tournament build. To me, they are reminiscent of my own Shunt-punch Interceptor grey knights. Crazy mobility and excellent shooting. Problem is, they die like regular marines. Yeah, they can hit pretty hard, but they are crazy expensive for a unit that isn't very resilient. In any case, they are dragon-bait and while triple-dragons roam the skies, you can be sure that the success of these types of MEQ lists will be controlled.

When you get around to fighting the Tau, be careful. A series of markerlights and a ton of kroot all firing sniper rounds can actually bring the Wraithknight down in one turn. Fortunately this means a lot of your other stuff won't get hit turn one, but it can still be disheartening. I at least managed to pull off a draw after this happened to me.

But the major different is their shooting is actually more viable against MC and vehicles and their movement is broken up and not one time use like interceptors. They also have HnR stock so can hide well in enemy assault phases while pinning down a units shooting until the eldar turn. They are also cheaper, 19 points really isn't much for the things they got IMO. Add some psychic buffs and now this unit is getting borderline busted in point for point efficiency. The key will be knowing when and where to assault to keep them safe from things like vector strikes and baleflamers

Thats why I think 2-3 WS will become the standard, sitting back with a 60" range ignores cover auto canon is an easy way to get ride of markerlights and forest bound kroot, lets not forget it causes pinning.

That was a complete and utter destruction on the Eldar part. If I was Frankie I would've quit the game by like turn 3 otherwise I would have been extremely mad the whole game. I have yet to play against the new Eldar and its really difficult on coming up with a strategy on dealing with a fortuned Wraithknight.

I would love to play against your demons (I am footdar as well)! Granted my army is entirely painted yet, but close enough! I just haven't faced against any demons yet and I am thinking of going to the Golden Throne in Pleasonton so a lil exposure to all to armies would be nice.

Unless its a metal tank I wouldn't try that stuff on plastic.

I find a 24 hour soak in Super Clean to be great for stripping paint. I hear Simple Green works well too but have never tried it. Make sure you get some gloves, though, as Super Clean will cause chemical burns.

Hey hey hey! One thing I see Eldar players doing now with the new codex out is forgetting that many of the new psychic powers are 2 warp charges. Mind war, fortune and eldritch storm all cost 2. So unless you have the spirit stone that allows you to reduce the cost, casting guide, fortune and prescience in one turn with a normal farseer is impossible. That is why Eldrad's staff is quite abit handier than it seems at first. You need the equivalent of psychic mastery level 6 if you want to get out say guide, doom, fortune and mind war in 1 turn and only Eldrad is capable of that.

The stars themselves once lived and died at our command, yet you still dare to oppose our will.

@Autarch

Yes, and the new Iyanden Spiritseer power (which is AWESOME!) is Warp Charge 2 a swell, which is a good reason to look at taking the wargear that lowers the cost.

It is easy to forget that.

@thread

Spiders are so good, they seriously have an answer for everything baring AV14. Plus, they are fast as can be. They do die like Sisters of battle, though, but they really aren't too expensive.

Rending weapons and/or snipers do scare the mighty Wraithknight, but I think the key is to not put him into position to get smacked by them. I am strongly considering a Night Spinner for just that reason. Barrage weapons are ultra useful but the torrent, rending template is also great for clearing out units like that. Plus, the tank is crazy cheap and fast. I think it may have a place in a well built list.

For striping plastic we typically use simple green or LA's totally awesome here at the shop. It is a lot harder than striping metal.
