Hi everyone. i have decided to end my hiatus from the hobby due to recently staring university and not having time to commit to learning new rules/ reconstruct army. anyway i am looking for a fun army to play that is still reasonably competitive (local meta is rather relaxed last time i played) while still using models i mostly have. after only a few hours searching around on the Internets i have come up with this:
Warhammer 40,000 Codex: Necron 1500pt
HQ:
Nemesor Zahndrekh 185pt
Royal Court 55pt
Harbinger Of Destruction
-Solar Pulse
Troops:
Necron Warriors 195pt
15 Warriors
Necron Immortals 153pt
9 Immortals
-Tesla Carbines
Necron Immortals 153pt
9 Immortals
-Tesla Carbines
Fast:
Canoptek Wraiths 230pt
6 Wraiths
-2 Whip Coils
Canoptek Scarabs 150pt
10 Scarabs
Canoptek Scarabs 75pt
5 Scarabs
Heavy:
Canoptek Spyder 100pt
2 Spyders
Canoptek Spyder 100pt
2 Spyders
Canoptek Spyder 100pt
2 Spyders
Total- 1496pt/1500pt
at the end of 5th edition i jumped on the band wagon and build a scarab farm list and i loved the idea of spawning extra units so i have continued to keep this theme going.
here is the idea behind what i will do
zahndrekh and the harbinger will join the warriors squad bringing it up to 17 units. i did this the best make use of the resurrection orb. this will primarily be a cover fire support unit providing zahndrekh a decent meat shield.
i have taken the solar pulse to give me some cover for my fast attack on the first turn.
i took zahndrekh because i like the idea of giving my scarabs furious charge and potentially cripple my opponent removing their special rules (i ran stormlord in 5th but changes to nightfight).
immortals are there to cap objectives and tesla is cool.
wraiths seem quite strong this edition and seem to fit well with the rest of the army.
idea with the scarabs it the spyders will boost the 10 man unit for the 1st 2-3 turns i will then give them furious charge and try do some damage, the spyders will then go on to boost the 5 man unit and assault the enemy them selves.
please keep in mind i have been out of the hobby for a bit. all comments and discussion is appreciated, thanks for having a look
