Do you guys have suggestions for a heavy tank army that is space marine primary and imperial guard allied to collect towards. I don't have much money now so I am doing the long plan.

Do you have a chapter of marines in mind? Point scale?

The following is from a C:SM perspective, other chapters will differ.

First ask how you want to fill your troop slots. The default answer is a pair of tac squads in rhinos. Nothing wrong with that. Alternatively, you take a bike captain and have a pair of bike squads as outriders for the armored column. As long as nobody is walking, you are fine.

Second is to decide what flavor of land raider you are fielding. If the idea of a SM mech army makes you happy, this is your centerpiece. You might not field it every game, but you need one. You will also want a squad of assault terminators to ride inside. I like the stock TLLC LR, but opinions vary.

Your HS slots are obviously tanks, which ones you take is up to you. I'd probably run a pair of Vindis and and auto/las pred

The FA slots is really up to preference. Pretty much everything here can keep up with the armored spearhead, so take what you like. I'd go with at least one stormtalon for air cover and then bikes/speeders to taste.

Points allowing, you could take some sternguard in a rhino/razorback as troubleshooters.

I can't speak for the IG ally side, but suspect you are going to be looking at a vet squad in a chimera and a bunch of russes. Not sure if you need a second chim. for a command squad or can just stick a HQ in with the vets.

As Nevelon said,

marine armies will generally be tank heavy naturally with their rhino/razorback transports.

You can always switch it up with a greyknight or darkangels list that uses terminators as troops - in that case you can invest in heavy tanks like the landraider variants.

Without doing the exact point costs, your marines could look something like:

HQ

3 tactical squads in rhinos

1 terminator squad in a landraider

1-2 predators or vindicators

Depending on the loadout this would cost somewhere around 1500 pts

OR you could do a dark angels terminator army with

Belial
3x deathwing squad + landraider

This would cost around 1500-1650 pts depending on equipment.

Then for your guard allies you could have:

1x company command squad with 4 plasma rifles + chimera

2x veteran squad with 3x plasma or melta in a chimera

^^ This costs 450-500 depending on gear once again.

These lists would be fairly competitive and provide you with a 2000 pt army (1500 marine 500 IG) that has a good number of tanks to work with.

I recommend using BA for their fast vehicles. Moving further and shooting more guns is a +.

Assault cannon razorbacks with jump pack less 5 man assault units with a melta gun, plus triple las predators is an excellent setup.

Sprinkle in some guard large blasts and a few 10 man units and you should be good.

For heavy heavy tank army, I was envisioning Land raiders by the boat load.

Grey knights Blood Angels and Dark Angels do that really well IIRC.

Dark angel terminators are pretty cheap too $ wise.

I was thinking between 1500 and 2000 points. Maybe a iron hands knock off with the extensive use of bionics and tech marines. I love the bike idea too. I plan on using the vanilla codexes for now.

Edit plus my idea for my land raider is it be my anti armor and be extra heavy armor on it.
