Dust, it's the vain of my domestic life. No matter how hard I try I just cannot keep on top of the stuff, it's everywhere, all of the time. I like to blame this on having a dog, although that may be a little bit extravagated, the dog's responsible for the hair that plagues my cleaning routine more then the dust but dog's cannot talk to defend themselves so she gets the blame.
The problem I'm encountering recently is dusty models. After three years sat on the shelf those lovingly painted models appear to be caked in the stuff. Sometimes it's not very noticeable or you kinda ignore it. That is until you take some photos like the one below and all you can see is DUST. That's when you think "How do I clean a miniature?" Compressed air in a can in my answer and I'll be running to the shop soon to get a can and bring these models back to life. But whats your solution?
Thanks Dakka, see you next time.

I've got several large brushes that came in sets which are too big to ever use for actual painting. I keep them clean and use them to brush off dust.

A brush works, So does a can of air (like for dusting keyboards).
Also you might look at getting an air purifier, might help a bit.

For remediation, brushes or compressed air as above. For prevention, some kind of enclosed shelf. You can get really cheap enclosed glass cabinets if you want to show your models off (and will generally keep them pretty well dust free), otherwise keep them in closed travel cases. For additional protection, add a fan with dust filter to keep the cabinet at a higher pressure than the outside, to further reduce the likelyhood of dust ingress... and possibly keep it NBC agent free as well, depending on the specification of the fan and the cabinet

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

This is the end game, I would love a nice enclosed glass cabinet for my models to live in, however due to living in a small one bed flat with my wife and a dog having a place to put said glass cabinet is a problem.
I do have some big brushes that have not been previously used so I will give this a try, I was slightly worried about them causing damage to the models but if this method has been tried and tested it's worth a go.

When it comes down to space you could always get rid of some stuff...... might be worth starting with the wife. I've tried it with mine but she's like a boomerang!!!!
