Not sure if this should go here or in the "find a game" section but I'm wondering if anyone along the south of England is planning on going to the Battlegroup South event at Bovington this year?

The website is a bit limited so does anyone have anything planned? http://www.battlegroupsouth.org/wp/" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> http://www.battlegroupsouth.org/wp/

I'm going down as i know one of our local retailers uses Bovington to clear out a load of FOW, GW and Warmachine stock normally half price or buy 2 get 1 free sort of thing which makes the entry fee worth paying. he normally has good demos and new games to look at too.
There is normally some fun games and interesting smaller traders but some of it can be a bit hit & miss.

Saying that - playing wargames in the midst of a vast array of tanks is always good!!

How do you expect me to know what it is if you haven't painted it! Unpainted models are just proxies for the real thing

I do love Bovington (PIAT shooter FTW!), I don't think I could make this but it sounds like a great event and a super venue. The book/model/gift shop is good there anyway, the addition of trade stands will be the icing on the cake. Enjoy.

hopefully i be going next week, good selection of traders, a fairly good B&B sale, plus added bonus of lots of tanks to look at, as for the entry fee, its worth it, as it gets you in the museum for the rest of the year (except special events like tankfeast).
Whos the trader selling half price FOW, so i can find him when im there

Would definitely recommend it - really good event with lots to see, and like you say the Tank Museum is worth a trip all by itself.

The guy who does some clearance stuff is Simple Miniature Games, it's their nearest show so they tend to take stuff which has been on the shelf in their shop to clear out and then refresh it all after the show to get new stuff in the shop. It's not always half price but I'm pretty sure they're doing buy two get one free again on some ranges and there will be some stuff cheap they want to get rid of.

Sadly I won't be going this year but I recomend the show. It's a blast.

*EDIT*

Well isnt this a stroke of luck. I now am going after all

I'll see you lot there. It really is a cracking show and even without the Wargaming you can spend hours just looking at all the lovely Tanks.

We'll be there, hopefully we won't be in front of the Centurion this year because the amount of families walking past our stand avoiding eye contact as they went to look at the tank got a bit tiresome by the end!

Can't decide whether to offload my FOW stuff on the bring and buy at this show or Colours...

I will try my best to get down there for it, but the odds are about 60-40 against me.

Shame really as I was looking to combine the day with an early morning trip to Bournemouth. The wife is mighty pissed.....She was looking forward to a trip to Bournemouth Pier. Everyone who is going, enjoy!

Sounds like it is going to be a good show - I'm looking forward to having a go at the Batman game at Simple Miniatures and grabbing some Cromwells off Plastic Soldier Co if he has them there!

BTM is awesome in its own right, and wargaming sends it right through the nerd stratosphere into turbo-awesome dipped in chocolate and rolled in Oreos.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.
