Hey guys,

as the subject kinda suggests, my question is, can missiles with blast or large blast, ie monoscythe missile, be used against other fliers, and if so does it scatter/are there any special rules involved?

No. You cannot use blast weapons against flyers.

Cheers for the clarification.

Oh, you can still engage fliers with the lances, just not the missiles.

Even if the firing model has Skyfire, Blasts and templates cannot effect flyers.

It's silly that the fighter can't engage other fighters with its missiles, but those are the rules. I really wish they had thought to make an exception for that, though. It would make anti-air a lot more feasible. Oh well, the Dark and Void Lances can still usually get the job done short of 'Cron spam.

GW has decided that all Flyer missiles with blast markers are effectively air-to-ground weapons only. It would be like trying to get a modern Harpoon missile to lock onto a Typhoon. Some flyers have missiles that can target aircraft, just not the Razorwing.

Personally, I think they didn't want an easy way to get around the Hard to Hit rules. They simply outright disallowed blast counters from hitting aircraft, probably without thinking there would be situations where blast counters could have skyfire. They did get around the very possible situation of hitting both an aircraft and ground troops simultaneously with the same explosion with the 'it only works on ground troops' rule, which I feel was the primary reason for said rule.

The best part is that, as they currently are, the bomber is better at anti-air than a jetfighter, may be it's a bad translation, considering DE is xenos and all.

This is actually true for some American aircraft too .

I can accept that the Razorwing fighter's missiles are ground-to-air, I'm just making the error of fluff influencing rules. Razorwing's mostly do air-to-air in Commoragh, though to be fair there are several stories of Raiders/Ravagers etc. basically being aircraft and engaging other fliers quite effectively.
