Nice, couple of things:

a) You need veils if you are adding the despairteks to the Deathmarks. Otherwise you'll be walking, which isn't worth it.

b) Do you have any Spyders? If so, I'd swap the Doom Scythe for 3 spyders.

c) I generally find three whip coils enough.

Despairteks come with veils as a default, No, i don't have any spyders but i can swap between doom and night.

Actually, they don't come with veils as default, you have to buy them for an additional 30 points (ie 60pts for a veiltek). Also, you'll only be able to buy 1, because you only have 1 overlord (Destro Lord doesn't get a RC)

So, maybe take the Doomscythe as a Night, and put one unit of Deathmarks in that, then use the spare points to add the veil to the Despairtek and MSS for the overlord?

twin D&D squad list?

Twin Death&Despair squad (deathmarks with Despairteks). Sorry, it's easier than typing Death&Despair all the time.

The last time i played them in a list, they faired pretty good.

Yep, they are great at messing up opponents plans. I'm trying to start one group on the table, cos that gives me a better chance for a T1 kill. Second group comes in later.

im thinking of of trying to drop the squad in the NS quickly then picking up the wraiths and DL and dropping them behind enemy lines to wreck havoc. my opponent likes to plant roots and open fire. If i can force him to run off the table, i think i can beat him.

The nightmare shroud would help with that. I've read a couple of times that the shroud is not a shooting attack, so you can use the shroud on a different unit to the one you're flaming.

I didn't realise you can put wraiths into a Scythe - suppose they are jump infantry so no reason why not. Are they bulky?

Course, by the time you get the scythe in, you'd probably be better off just running them up the board. Putting Obyron with them might be interesting (except then they can't assault in the turn they teleport - that would suck).

Yes, they are jump infantry, the wraiths count as two models in a NS. i would run them but the guy i play has a plasma and missile fetish. I tried running my scarabs last game and they were killed halfway across the board. normally i run obyron with a squad of deathmarks but someone pointed out that its more cost effective to use a despairtek.

Plasma and Missiles are a pita, that's for sure. At least the FAQ for the scarabs helps a bit, but not much.

Veiltek is better for deathmarks because of the flamer really.
