Good afternoon lovers of all things Green.
I'm in need of your help (when aren't I right?).
OK so the back story is this - I'm looking at creating a diorahma for next years Games Day UK (yes, I am that slow at these undertakings). I know what I want to do and how to do it, however I've run into a snag - and I'm only in the design process!
I need to create a W40k civilian vehicle for scenery purposes (the idea is for it to be partially destoryed on the side of the road - watch this space)
The thing is, if it wasn't going to be a competition piece, I'd have no problem buying a third party WWII vehicle or the like and using that - however I'm guessing doing that isnt strictly rules legal.
So I turn to you - The Dakka Dakka community - have you seen/made any civilian vehicles using solely GW parts so I can get some ideas as to how best to go about this task?
Any help you can give would be most welcome and appreciated.
Till next time

Short answer is no. The closest you will get are tidied up Ork trucks with new tyres or maybe some of the FW stuff. But they have nothing like a car for example. (I'd suggest they would like an Ork truck "returned" to its former state).
Although i note your comments I would suggest ou take a look at Ainsty Castings and Ramshackle games. They both have some nice models that can be 40k'ed up. I would struggle to see GW complain about items where there is no obvious GW model but it might be worth a call to check.

according to the fluff the rhino is often used as a civilian transport in inhospitable environments. though obviously in a less armoured version. Automatically Appended Next Post: maybe something like the old mk1 rhino, with more exposed exhaust and tracks. I think fw still make them as the deimos pattern rhino

See if you can source some of the old Dark Future cars? GW did a whole game based around Mad Max/car wars style vehicle combat. Automatically Appended Next Post: A quick check on e-may indicates there is loads of dark future stuff available. 1 is up there for just 99p (plus £10 pstage admittedly)

Dark Future stuff WAS matchbox/hotwheels scale though 1/76 to 1/87 scales (HO/OO scales for railway).
They really were tiny. It's closer to 20mm scale than 40k's 28++ mm.

Hunt down some Gorkamorka Ork trukks?
Actually, horrifyingly, your other best bet is the current Ork Buggies and possilbly the Wartrakks. Those kits are astonishingly old.

I suppose you could use a Landspeeder storm and lose all the weapons and scouts and customize a windshield, paint it yellow and add a "hover taxi" sign on the sides.
Or do the same with a space marine bike, but kit-bash lots of pizza boxes on the back.
