Just finished it... and now it's in a box on it's way to Australia... so sad to see it go. It was a fun project.

GW could be taking some design notes from you. I really like how this looks like the killa kan or deff dread, just bigger. Much much... MUCH better then the upside down bucket or dress wearing designs of their stompa kit.

One thing is, it might be a bit small to be a full gargant, but photographs are always wonky when it comes to dimensions, and it's orky.

Either way, fantastic looking model.

That is just damn fancy. A piece of orkish art. The pose is awesome too, much more menacing that a typical herp derp gargant.

Thanks for the comments. The base is a 14" x 11" oval I picked up at Home Depot. It's 15" tall from its feet to the top of the spotting tower. I wish I could have taken a picture of it next to the GW Stompa, which looks like a puny silly looking heap next to it. It was made mostly out of .5mm, 1mm, and 2mm plastruct sheets, with a stompa kit thrown in and took about 6 months worth of available hobby time to complete.

This is truly amazing. The only thing it needs more of is dakka. That isn't a critique per se as anything orky can use more dakka.

Yeah, if I were ever to build another one it would be bristling with dakka sticking out between the "teeth." I was originally planning on having a belly gun equivalent on the mouth, but decided against it due to lack of materials and inability to get more.

Best scratch build I have ever seen. In the 5th picture down- how did you make the ammo belt?

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

The ammo belt was made by connecting the feed to the gun with a 1" strip of .5mm plastic sheet (this particular stock was a beware of dog sign from hope depot). Then I glued a whole bunch of 1" lengths of 1/4" styrene tube side to side and cut and glued additional strips of .5mm sheet to look like framing. Easy to add to any Orky project that needs ammo belts (which is pretty much all of them).
