Hello!!! I am a passionate eldar player who wants to know who your favourite Phoenix lord is. Maybe their fluff is cool or just how they rock the table. Personally my favouites are Jain Zar and Maugan Ra. Why? Jain Zar has a host of AP2 weapons at her disposal for taking out those terminators, Maugan Ra because he has a pretty epic fluff story(not as good as prince Yriel's though)!!! So who is your favourite Phoenix lord?

Maugan Ra, because he holds back Nid invasions for a laugh.

But Fuegan is pretty close second if he had a cooler model.

I really, really want to like Jain Zar too - because of the image of a whirling dervish of death and slicing - but sadly I really hate the model. I'd snap up a new model in a heartbeat if it looked more like the new artwork for her in the Codex.

Because of that, my current actual favourite has to be Asurmen. Embodiment of all aspects of War and the envoy of Asuryan... as Phoenix Lords come, they just don't get more iconic.

Fuegan and Asurmen.

Both of them totally wreck face.

Although Jain Zar with her collection of ap2 weaponry and Karandras with the I7 6 attack powerfist are both awesome too.

I like Maugan Ra. Because nothing screams "I'm a bada*s" lke taking out a hive fleet single handed, Or going into the warp and pulling out a craftworld! He's also got a reputation (for me) of going around himself on the tabletop when he gets bored of staying still and wrecking face of anything and everything...

Baharoth is a second, just because his artwork and model are quite cool, and I like his rules and swooping hawks

They could all use a model update though....

Karandras/Fuegan/Maugan-Ra

Maugan-Ra - I love the model.
Fuegan - has never been killed when I fielded him. Ever. Right since 2nd ed. He took a melta gun shot (when melta's did d6 wounds). My opponant rolled a 2. Thats the nearest anyone ever got.

Special note for 3rd ed baharroth. If you like characters for rules then he was hands down the best character ever created

But my Favourite is Karandras. Found Ahra, fought him for days while trolling him. Loving the 6th ed boost he got too.

Fluff wise, Maugan Ra slaps both the Tyranids and forces of Chaos and gives no feths.

Tabletop wise, Karandras and Fuegan in that order. Karandras is a ridiculous beatstick with a half dozen power fist attacks at an absurdly high initiative, and also a mandiblaster that hits at S6 and I10. And Fuegan? Two shot fusion pike, tank hunters, and gets meaner the more beat up he gets, oh and he's absurdly tough and can get healed up for shenanigans by a friendly psyker.

Maugan Ra actually has a pretty cool model. Nothing says badass than ribcage armour.

Maugen Ra.

Just because he's the ultimate goth poseur.

His armour is made from bones.
He carries a gun called "The reaper" - it even has a scythe on it.

I've not used him since 2nd ed (when I got the model) but he wrecked face in that edition BEFORE he got to cc. That cannon was murder on marines.

I only HAVE two PL models. Maugen Ra is the ONLY one I bought myself.

Karandras was given to me as a birthday present back in late 3rd ed.

We played a 500 point game in 2nd. I killed 5 marines in one round of shooting with just Maugar-ra. It was his finest moment for me

Definitely Karandras.. in my games hes been nothing short of an unhinged killing machine, mowing down squad after squad after squad.

Just puts a smile on my face imagining him somersaulting around, tearing off heads while pretending to be a scorpion, making Dr Zoidberg-style noises the whole time

In the fluff, definitely Maugan Ra, because, y'know, Hivefleet and Craftworld shenanigans. He also has what's probably my favorite model in 40k.

I've never used any of them on the table, but I really want to try out Asurmen and Karandras.

Eldar shenanigans are the best shenanigans!

This is the best thing I've read today. I will be doing this in my games from now on.

Fuegan is the biggest badass of them all. Best chance of absorbing non-ap2 wounds, gets stronger if wounded, and works very well with renewer. 2 shot fire pike> Maugan Ra. In melee he can be mediocre to insane depending on str. If at S8+ he will whip anything not EW and keep on going. If <S8 hes still good, but has to pick wounds off.

Asurmen is VERY good with the Iyanden warlord traits. If you get 3 roll once on the eldar trait then twice on the Iyanden traits. Almost every Iyanden trait is good except the DTW while the normal eldar traits have some pretty meh ones.

I do want to take my 2nd Karandras, give him 2 claws, and paint him up like zoidberg now though....>

Maugan ra by far. Armour of bones and a big gun with a scythe on the end. But maybe I'm biased because my craft world is altansar. Also fuegan and karandaras are cool. Although don't like the karandaras model.

Arha, because he knows when to go to the winning side and train their best warriors

Out of the loyalist, I'd go with Karrandras. Striking Scorpions and Warp Spiders are my favorite Aspect Warriors, and Karrandras is pretty amazing in his own right.

... No, damn it, stop, I can't start another army just because of this MARVELOUS idea

Maugan Ra for me. I didn't know the background of any Phoenix Lord before I read this new codex so I was like "ah, everyone is so very cool, this is really great and all" then I reach the final one, Maugan Ra. DAYUM, Hive Fleet AND Chaos?! The dude is the freaking elven Marbo!

Everyone has such a different perspective its hard to decide. I htink all the phoenix lords are very good and I also agree that all but Maugan Ra should get a new model. Maugan Ra doesn't need a new model because his is awesome plus hes a bada*s!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but... this isn't legal! Asurmen's rule specifies that he rolls on the Codex:Eldar table.

I use Asurmen every once in a while. He's the only one I currently own.

Once upon a time I had them all. Maugan Ra is probably my favorite of the sculpts.

Once again I must say I'd wish FW would release a collectors edition model for each of the named characters.

I think they could really give the Phoenix Lords an incredible make over. Even if they were just the same models with different poses.

I think that Jain Zar and Asurmen could really use new faces.
