Hey i was wondering, what does everyone think the most common number of points in a 40k game is.

I guessing it would be 1500, 1850 or 2000 but im not 100% sure, any ideas?

I'd have to say 1850 seems to be one of the most popular ones. It will always depend on the local group of people your play with though.

To play it safe I have a 1500 pt list and 1850 pts list that use the same units I bring with me.

Most time you can easily chop 1850 down to 1750 if needed by removing a squad or some upgrades.

In my area it's 1750.

Around here tourneys are 1850 but at my FLGS we play 1500 or 1250.

My gaming group does 1500 or 1750. The FLGS typically does 1850-2000 depending on who's organizing the game.

I generally only play at 3k points or outright apoc due to the difficulties with getting to play with anyone in my local meta, so it had better be big enough to be memorable.

Seems like 1850 is the norm around here. Which happens to price me out of most games. I don't have 1850 worth of stuff. :( That seems too high to me. Games are too long at that point level for my taste.

Here we end up having a lot of 1k games where it's 2v2. Otherwise, whoever is playing tends to just agree on a number, so it varies, but 1500 is pretty common if we are not doing 2v2.

At my FLGS, the average is 1500, the tournament's are also 1500, however there is the small group who play 2000pt games and there group, whilst small, is getting bigger.

I like 1200-1500 but it seems most people prefer about 2000. I think those games are too long most the time though.

My group usually plays 2,000 points. As we play at my home so this gives a good solid day of play.

There's no set points level. It varies between 1500, 1750 and 1850 pts for tournaments here.

At home we just go with whatever!

Actually, I only ever played 1500 since I moved to the UK (and a few 200 pts. Combat Patrol events).

We normally play 1.5k to 2k. Unless its a special occasion. Like on sunday, when I'm going to warhammer world for a 6k game. Not that I'm looking forward to it much or anything...

at home its usually the old 1999+1 or 2.5k ish lots of pew pew on the table then, iv unfortunatly found playing say a 1k game if the 2 lists are a bad match up its over real fast and fun for no one.

2000 here in pensacola. 2.5k is second. third is team games with either 2k per side or 4k per side.

In my area games are almost exclusively played at 2000, but the tournaments around here seem to all be converging on 1850.

We play 1750, with the occasional 1500 and 2000 games when playing standard 40k. We've had some 'small' games as well with multiple players and small 500-1000 point forces.

Well at my flags the norm is 1500 points but if you ask the owner he will set up games at whichever point cost you want. When I first started I only have 750 points of space marines so he set up a Saturday game day and said there were 4 people willing to play a 750 match. So then after a few 1 v 1 750 point matches it went up to 2 v 2 1500 points whichis the norm for my area.
when i playat home I like 1000 point games with friends because I don't want to spend all day playing but just a few hours and can fit in more games in less time.

in the Dubai club you have to bring a 750p list in the morning

The standard in the region is 1850, since it's what most east coast tournaments are run at but there is a small movement to push for 1500 so we can get faster weeknight games and fight the model count inflation GW is using to sell stuff.

1750 and 2000pts for me and my group.

Most people play 1000 where I play. I don't have enough models for anything higher.
