Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

Well, I have 3 Steel Legion figures hacked viciously to pieces with 3 cadian flamers (likewise hacked to pieces) and I still have not successfully been able to convert them. Has anyone had any success with this sort of thing? Even just success with doing a good quality conversion with metal because this is driving me up the wall. Pictures would be great! Now the problem is is that I am trying to make a mainly urban/cities of death themed army and can't find a way to do that without flamers, (please someone pipe in and say "well just some snipers and melta's would do fine and make it urban enough). The other part of that problem is that the Armageddon steel legion figures don't have one for the Flamer or the Melta, so whichever I'm trying to do I can't do it without converting. Really need some help, even in the form of emotional support, getting pretty frustrated with this endeavour.

If you have spare sergeants, you can simply use a plastic cadian flamer arm in place of their right arm. Fits nicely, no conversion work necessary – though a little cleaning and tidying to remove the shoulder pad would help it blend better.

I have considered that, mainly inspired by a piece of 40k artwork I've seen (trying to find it now) but it was of a guy wielding a flamer one handed. any other suggestions?

I've made about 12 using the steel legion.
I'll try to post a picture, when I get a chance. It can be done with any lasgun model.
On the lasgun model I cut off the power cell clip and the barrel of the gun off at the stock, and used a file to smooth it down.
On the Cadian flamer bit I did the same thing cutting the nozzle connector and tubing off along with the flamer part from the stock up.
I put the nozzle bit in place of the power cell and pinned the flamer part from the stock up. I than just glued the flamer backpack on and used some stereo wiring to link the backpack to the nozzle.

If its a dirty big flamer you're after then the gw chaos vehicle upgrade sprue has one, simply file off the chaos detail and its done,

Thanks.
Most of the credit goes to a buddy who's a guard nut, and me picking his brain and bits supply. Like you I was frustrated with the limited options available to Steel Legion model's, and I didn't want to cut out a whole lasgun out for weapon swap, and this was the simplest method we could come up with.

My only question is isn't the flamer wider than the lasgun? steel legion lasguns seem very very very thin?

fit like a glove.
If you have a little overhang it's nothing a little filing wouldn't cure.

And you just used super glue? or did you manage to pin it somehow?

I try to pin them. I had a couple that were rushed for a GT, that I glued and pin if they fall off.
I had to use greenstuff on some of them that I didn't cut or file perfectly.
