OK, so a while back I did some pretty decent (if I do say so myself) rules for the Emperor vs Horus and ran it at Dakka Con.

The only down side is I had to use 2D Star Wars tiles to represent Horus's flagship.

Then 2 years back I picked up a metric crapton of 3d corridors from a company called Creative Gamescapes. You can see my review here:

They're good products, not great, but quite good.
Then I moved to Trinidad and they went into the closet.
Well this week broke them out to do some work.
One frustration for me was the corridors were narrow (they can take up to a terminator but nothing bigger) and the sets did not have enough large rooms. I always knew if I ran Horus vs the Emperor again I'd need a suitably large throne room for Horus. So I built one!
The floor is thick plasticard with 2 of the Creative Gamescapes 1x1 tiles mounted below to give it a mating point for the other corridors. Then I added various grubbings (mostly from IMEX platformer and chemical plant kits). I tried not to go crazy since this is terrain and not a diorama, models need room to move. I may add a bit more to the walls but I think the floors have to be left mostly clear. I have some stand alone consoles I can always add to fill floor space.
And of course the evil throne from Storm of Magic.
I also created a 'grand corridor' with 2 of the 1x5 corridors and 2 of the 2x2 rooms. It took a few minutes of clipping and sanding but worked well. I may make one or 2 more.
Anyway my earlier recommendation for Creative Gamescapes still stands. I know we're now seeing an explosion of new terrain options thanks to Kick Starter, laser cutting and other new features but this is good stuff that works right out of the box and is easy to work with for making new rooms and pieces.
I think after this I may return to my Industrial Towers project.
