Dude it was anything but boring! time flew by to be honest , we had a 45 min time limit per turn .

re: who has lots of points, we had 10 players, I was the new guy and have only played since april, everyone else has been playing for 3-15 years

Its also easy to get high points costs once you fully upgrade some units , for example my 15 fire dragons + exarch and 3 wave serpents by themselves were 750+

One guy has 5 baneblades with 1 a command tank, so I think that was 3100 points , the superheavy tank the Eldar guy had was 1250!

Photos look great. Any chance you can tell us how it went, what crazy things happened? Who won the air battle etc etc, who was fighting who?

it was 5 on 5 , from what I recall the sides were:

Zenos
Me Eldar Iyanden, 5 wave serpents avatar 2 wraithlords, 2 wraithguard Plus extras ( harlewuins, swooping hawks etc)
Eldar wind rider biel tan with avatar and scorpion
tau lots of battlesuits and CSM all deep strike!
Tau with a mobile force lots of hammerheads , and devilfish and a badass commander battlesuit ( more in a second)
last tau guy had a riptide and some nice railgun equippied tanks and he had 5 flyers

Humans:
1 Imperial guard with lots of armour, mostly Leeman russ and basilisks
1 SM Salamanders with flyers and about 10 drop pods and some dreadnoughts , also 2 full squads of hammernators with Lysander and 6 rhinos
1 SM player with Grey Knights and Dark Angels
1 SM with Space WOlves and some FW flyers ( stormeagles?
1IG player with 5 baneblades, 10 other tanks and a few flyers

Automatically Appended Next Post:
for cool stuff that happened:

what I did personally : My 1st squad of wraithguard zorched lysander and his squad to the warp with 18 hits from a wellplaced squad and d - scythes!

One of my wraithlords in cover took shots from NINE different IG tanks before finally missing some cover saves

The banebl;ades dropped 2 apoc blast templates with S10 on my massed troops behind an aegis def line, he killed 3 guardians total

One of my Wave serpents glanced a stormeagle full of space wolves and then I lucked out and got a pen, rolled a 6 and it was raining termies

for other stuff I saw, the guy with the tau flyers fought 19 imperial aircraft and shot down 10 by himself , the rest fel to missile packs and guys snapfiring

the Tau commander battlesuit ( 220 points) in successive turns blew up a baneblade, and then a land raider , then hurt another baneblade so bad it was easy to finish off, and he ended the game with 3 wounds left , man we cracked up when he kept rolling so well. Deep striked behind the IG lines and he went mental

Oh I forgot , to the far end of the table my 5 rangers lasted the whole game, atthe end there were 2 left and they scurried down and retook a victory point uncontested, lol

what else happened that was cool, oh yea, that Salamander dreadnought is a forgeworld moel and he can assault immediately and is immune to stuff liek tank hunter and the extra dice from armourbane and melta, he showed up and systematically waded through about 30 fire warriors, 12 of my fire dragons and 2 devilfish, before a lucky overwtch shot blew him up ( yea last 4 fire dragons!)

there was so much to keep track of I was tasked with taking photos too, and I made a few errors as I kept forgetting people to move

but after 11 hours we ended up with a 6-6 draw!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
My observations: for an apoc game D weapons will do lots of damage , with the new rules its supposed to be even better!

Warp Spiders are really cool, so are swooping hawks , deep strike is risky, but once you get back there I was able to kill basilisks and lascannons with impunity

the Apoc blast templates and flamer templates are absolutely insane, one guy had a hit with the thunderstrike battery and did 37 wounds to a bunch of kroot that were too close together FOOM FOOM FOOM!!!

Thats how you play Appoc. Take all the crazy wargear combos you never would in a normal game.

Its the game where you run a unit of nothing by GK grandmasters, all with Mastercrafted Psycannons, and a single Paladin Apothecary for FnP.

Its where you run that unit of 10 Mega armored warbosses.

U can't have units like that in 40K so i have no idea what rules you guys are useing . And why you would need souch large armies when 1500 will do and games that long are nuts

You obviously know nothing about Apocalypse.

It tosses all codex and FoC restrictions out the window, and adds a ton of new units.

As for why you would play a game that long, because some people like playing a full scale 40k battle and not the small skirmish that the game of 40k represents.

If you don't like it, stop posting in an Apoc thread.

Commander shadowsun with the drones and stim pack, plus some wargear is indeed 220 points

I cant tell if you are trolling or not, but what do you have for 1500 points?

How many flyers? How many Vehicles? troop transports?

How many drop pods or fast attack?

I like having a bigger army cos I can change my playstyle of my forces if I want to, always playing the same list is boring IMO

Read a few codexes. Case in point: Death Company of the Blood Angels. It will blow your mind.

Edit: Nevermind. Kain has reminded me of who you are. A trolling newb. You have clearly never played a game of 40k before.

Why is it that some people add the two sides together when talking about Apocalypse but not when talking about other games?

I am not aware of ANY game where that seems to be the norm.
Perhaps some people that play Apocalypse suffer from delusions of grandeur to some extent, and need to boost their egos....

Anyway, it looked like you had a very nice game with good terrain and beautifully painted models.
