Hello everyone! I finally finished a nice swamp base for my contemptor dread, but I have found that getting the multipart legs in place is being significantly more of a pain than I expected. I had hoped to hold the legs together with blutack and then glue my way down, but the resulting amalgamation was far too unstable. I obviously don't want to start from the feet for fear that the end result won't match up. Anyone have any tips on the matter?

Possibly start with one foot and work your way up that leg and then down the other leg?

For large bipedals you're going to want to build one leg from the ground up, dry fitting with the hip and other leg to make sure it's going to work for the pose you want...once you have the first leg attached to the hip, build the second leg from the ground up also. This is what I've done for my warhound titans and it works like a charm.

Just remember to dry fit about a dozen times to be sure, before you secure anything in place.

I have never assembled a contemptor but couldn't you just assemble it with blue tac and use a water resistant pen to mark all the joints. Just a single line going over the joints - from one piece over to the other.

Once you glue the pieces together you just have to make sure that the marks you made line up properly.

Pinning is very helpful on the Contemptor since the legs alone can't support any weight while the glue dries.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
