Heath Campbell, 40, walks out of Hunterdon County Family Court wearing a Nazi uniform after petitioning a judge to allow him to see his youngest son Hons. The 2-year-old and his siblings were removed from the father's care after allegations of abuse and a violent home surfaced. The father denies those claims.

A judge has denied custody to a father who came to court in a Nazi uniform to get back his youngest child.

A hearing was held last month at Hunterdon County Family Court in Flemington, N.J., to determine whether the 40-year-old Heath Campbell, who gave all four of his children Nazi-inspired names, could visit with his 2-year-old son Heinrich Hons.

The New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services (NJ DYFS) said they took the boy because of previous violence in the home. An anonymous abuse claim was also made to local police.

The couple said they never abused their children and argued they were being targeted for the names they chose for their kids. Officials have denied that to be the case.

NJ DYFS officials had already placed Heinrich Hons Campbell's older siblings – Adolf Hitler Campbell, 7, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 6, and 5-year-old Honzlynn Jeannie Campbell – in foster care because of the alleged violence in the family's Holland Township, N.J. home.

The Campbell’s gained national attention in December 2008 after a Greenwich Township, N.J. ShopRite supermarket refused to write Adolf Hitler Campbell’s name on a cake for his third birthday. The couple complained the refusal constituted discrimination.

A second store eventually honored their request, but the flap led NJ DYFS to start an investigation into the family.

The agency's investigation prompted a judge to remove the kids from the couple’s care.

Campbell says he will appeal Thursday’s decision.

Now-now, I shouldn't have to point out the irony of criticising nazis by their physical differences.

Amurika you so crazy.

If this berk was serious about his kids he would've left the uniform at home (perhaps just the knights cross as a tie pin?).

It's not something i would usually recommend but in this case those kids are best off in care.

There should be a freeddom of speech clause against people like this. Stupid Constitution. I wonder how the framers would have dealt with problems like this if there was a nazi party back then and it was a problem.

Hons? Its Hans you idiot! Is this guy such a mouth breather (yes that a rhetorical question) that he couldn't even get the name spelling right?

Kudos to the judge. They are usually wussies in cases like this.

Are you kidding? This is the best part of our Freedom of Speech. It's vitally important to have people having the right to say and do these things in the public eye, such that the rest of us might better identify and regard them as social pariahs.

Can you imagine if these people were allowed to exist in secret? Now that would be scary.

Basically, everything hateful I have to say about WBC applies to these two.

Ignorance, attention-whoring, and using their kids to make spectacles of themselves all add up to my feeling that I genuinely wish terrible things to happen to these people. Not inciting violence, mind, but a meteorite, bolt of lightning or an inexplicable case of flesh-eating bacteria (centered on this dude's stupid mustache) would make me giggle long into the night.

Long before the nazi's had gas chambers or concentration camps.
They started with doctors killing babies/children, with apparent physical or mental disabilities.
That guy would probably never have got to have children.

I disagree. His speech (that I am aware of) has yet to call for harm to come to anyone, thus is not "bad". It's definitely asinine and worthy of ridicule, and potentially dangerous... but it is not currently dangerous. There is a difference, perhaps subtle, between shouting "hooray for the 3rd reigh, go team dumbass rah rah" and "we should solve that Jew problem". While the two are almost universally synonymous, they are not technically the same thing and thus the former should be protected, as opposed to the latter.

Isn't there a Dishonored Heroes Act or something that makes it illegal to wear a military uniform to which you are not entitled?

Well, if there is something like that...it would be funny to see a pseudo-Wehrmacht/SS uniform to be protected because of "Dishonored Heroes". I know that in Germany it's illegal to actually wear full Bundeswehr uniforms with the intent to look like military to other people. Not sure about US rules.

I like the swastika tattoo sticking out on his and her neck. I'm sure he's a judge or CEO somewhere.

Also with the haircut, I'd bet good money he has some girly hippy tree hugger poney tail. Poor little Nazi. Can't spell, wears his hair like a girl. He just needs a big ole hug.

I believe you are likely referring to the Stolen Valor act, which prevented you from claiming military honors to which you are not accorded. It was tossed by the Supremes for being an infringement into the first amendment, which I think was the right call. In any event, it did not apply to foreign honors or uniforms.

Also, I hate to say it, but I think you have the right to name your kids whatever you like, no matter how awful of a human being you are. However, I can't find it in me to mount too vigorous of a defense of what is obviously a excretable human being. Which I guess makes me a phony as far as rights go, but I'm tired and going to sleep.

Whether or not they actually physically abused their kids is beside the point though, right?

I mean, surely the name scheme could be argued to be abuse in and of itself.

I was under the impression the SS was very selective in the troops it let in. It was just the party leadership which was made up of people who looked nothing like the "blonde haired blue eyed 6ft tall German superman" ideal and who would have ironically been first in the railway train l if they had not been in charge.
