Hey everyone,
So with my new tau army being built up I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for conversions on some of the tau guys?
So far I have 3 battle suits with no conversions which is fine but I got a new box of 3 so was wondering what kinds of conversions I could do?

I found this cool post by GW found here: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m490154a_UK_WD317_ConvertingTauBattlesuits.pdf

I am thinking about doing the straight arm and maybe a dynamic crouching pose but I am not sure if it will be to hard.

Anyone have any experience with stuff like this?

I found a small jewelers saw to be handy when converting crisis suits. it lets you get into the elbow and knee joints more easily.

Mine have extended legs, and stealth suit heads to make them look a little less pidgeon-chested. I also magnetised the weapons by making them underslung on the arms.

Coolest conversion I have seen involves removing the centre part of the jump pack, and placing the engines side by side. Then replace half the chest piece with the targeting array for a land raider sponson.

At some point, I wouldn't mind having a go at getting two Riptides, and doing a four-legged beastie/walker type thing with it...

After seeing Pacific Rim, I really wanna make Jaeger style Riptides.

Cutting and re-angling the jet packs makes for a simple and good looking conversion. The legs are also very easy to reposition- cut just below the knee at the top of the "shin." Adding orky-bits is optional!

(Shameless plug: you can also buy this set on ebay and use your suits to expand the army!)

Here are my first attempts I compressed the jump packs and tried some ankle variations to give a pinnable surface. The collars are made from stealthsuit heads.

I like the collars. Nice use of parts.
