So, I'm working on some more daemon units to swap out elements of my CSM allies, but limiting myself to a quarter of the Daemon Codex seems really dumb. Solution is to make a whole lot of counts as Khorne daemons! Let me know what you guys think so far.
My army is beastman themed, hence the... beast...men.

My apologies for the grainy camera pics.

Screamer of Khorne. Made from gargoyle wings and a chaos hound.

Khorne Scalpers (daemonettes). Had some kroot and dark elf bits lying around.

Khorne Blood Golems (plaguebearers). Need some more work to make em even bloodier.

And I'm almost done base-painting my red-lobster soul grinder. Too many legs. I have no idea how I'm going to transport this thing when it's all assembled.

Also my lovable fatty Butcher of Khorne (...mutilator of nurgle). 61 points of deepstriking, tarpitting glory!

I always enjoy seeing daemon conversions where all units conform to one god. I especially like the Screamer and Butcher.

The screamer is brilliant and the Mutilator is suibably Khornate. However, the Defiler doesn't look that Khorne. Nice conversion, I like the use of Thundertusk and Forgefiend parts but it just looks like a Defiler. Still, great job.

The Daemonettes and Plaguebearers, however, are lesser. Honestly it just looks to me as Daemonettes and Plaguebearers with a head swap.

I'm a huge fan of headswaps as a basis for conversions, especially for squads of guys. It's fast, effective, and still lets people know what theyre looking at. I wanted those two squads to be quickly readable, as I've got a lot of diverse conversions in my army.
I like the new plaguebearer models, and thought they'd look pretty good as bloody corpses, instead of rotting ones.

The daemonetes though, are kroot bodies, with beastmen heads and dark-elf corsair weapons. So.... good that they read as daemonetes I guess?

What could be added to the soul-grinder/defiler? My army is beastmen primarily, and khorne secondarily, so I was going for sort of a big hulking war beast, like an elephant or mammoth, rather than specifically hitting khorne iconography (angry face, scorpion, skulls, etc)

Don't get me wrong, if you like head swaps they are fine. To me head swaps only work on similar models (Marine to Marine, guardsmen to Marine, GK to Marine, etc).

The Defiler is reallygreat but to me it just seems like it could be anyone's cool Defiler with funky bitz, not a "Beastman Defiler." That's just my (perhaps overly-critical) opinion but be clear, its a great model.

Now that I look again at the Scalpers they actually look quite good, based on your bitz.

Incredible, I love this. I've always thought it a shame if you want an army dedicated to one God that you have to suffer with less options, and voila! Great job.
