Hi, i have currently procured some more of the new necron stuff and such to start playing again. Have not really played since 3rd edition and i am kind of not up to date with the pros and cons of the necrons.
So if anyone could help me set up a offensive necron army about 1000-1500 pts with what i have avaliable now that would be awesome.
So what i got now is:

HQ:
Imotekh the stormlord
Trazyn
Zahndrekh
Obyron
Anrakyr
3 x Lords
2 x Crypteks

Elites:
Triarch Stalker
5 x lychguard
5 x deathmarks

Troops:
36 x Warriors
19 x Scarab bases
10 x Immortals with gauss
10 x Immortals with tesla
4 x Ghost arks

Fast attack:
6 x Tomb blades

Heavy:
2 x Doom schytes/night schytes
1 x Doomsday ark
1 x Annihilation barge
1 x Spyder

So if anyone got any tips and tricks that would be great.

Is this just a list of things that you have? That doesn't do much for anyone.
If you want us to help you out, post a list first, tell us what you intend to do with the list, then you'll get some advice.

I am also pondering what to do with necrons.
Thinking along the lines of:

Spyders are monsterous creatures and T6.
Obyrons ability to deep strike out of combat. If the battle field is open thinking with a huge warrior or imortal squad - deep strike in near annoying vehicles to gauss flayer/blaster them. If the battle field is littered with terrain using him with a couple or three spyders to have some monsterous creatures bouncing about. Which may site well with a monalith to help bounce other things around the board.

At the moment I'm of the opinion that offensive assaulty needs spyders and wraiths. The latter are a little fragile but quick.

You've got enough flyers to put on an impressive airshow at the 1000pt level.

I like the idea of the stalker, not sold on the model yet. But an AV13 walker is a tough nut to crack with shooting and in combat.

I'm staying away from tomb blades, hate the model.

I will proably end up with a Doomsday ark as it is the only thing with a decent range in the army list. I need to have a test game in a few months to decide on how many units of spyders suit me; that's about the only thing stopping me from going out and getting an Annihilation Barge at the moment.

I hope my rambling are of use.

Couple of things... come up with what a list you might want to play and we will be happy to comment on it.

For Jaspers comments:

Oby is pretty broken currently. Paying 160 points for a veil is rough. I would also never DS 20+ model units unless I had no other choice. If just one of those can't be placed you mishap. Also... want to see a largeblast centered over a tightly packed 20 man unit... no..no you don't. With that said, there have been a few posts and talks about using DS to move up spyders into the fray. This allows you to keep boosting scarab units and get them into battle for smash attacks. I never saw anyone respond with any actual game time doing this.

doom arks are iffy, they either do amazing for you or just cost you a lot of points. They will be a target, so you have to set them up in cover. If you move them to get jink that awesome weapon kind of sucks and the range is cut to 24". Very few people are going to let you just rain down on them. I've seen games where because of the set up they did well.. I've also seem then dropped in 2 two... so you paid 175 pts for one shot.

I'm move of a stalker fan now, but I also run an army that benefits greatly from the twin linking. If you have a lot of shots, that don't already have tl, then it becomes a decent investment. I only run the TL HGC on mine because of the range. The heatray forces you to take them to close to the battle and in most cases they get shot up.

3000pts: Hive Fleet Empusa

You've got a solid core of units there, so there shouldn't be too much trouble helping you put a list together. Key questions are what models you like, do you like a risky/aggressive list (all lists are offensive, so that's why I'm asking), what's your playstyle.

Btw, scarabs aren't troops in 6E, they are fast attack. Great unit, I often take them.

I have not played much since 3rd ed. Then i played mostly space marines, but i like an offensive army, always trying to keep my opponent to have to respond to my movements and trying to pick em apart trough use of cover while on the move. so i dont mind close quater firefights. Maybe i should use big squads then to increase chances on overwatch?

Ok, if that is the case why not try something like the following (depending on points):

HQ
Zandrekh (for buffs and orb)
RC - DespairTek, veilTek.

Elite:
Lychguard (Z, Veiltek) NightScythe
Deathmarks (Despairtek, NightScythe)

Troop
20xwarrior
5xWarrior (Ghost Ark)
5xwarrior (Ghost Ark)

FA
5xScarab
5xScarab
6xScarab

HS
Anni Barge
Spyder

Lychguard, Deathmarks and Scarabs are your counter assault/tough unit counters.

2 GA plus 30 warriors for firebase (plus the anni barge)

Spyder for MC attacks.

The list above could make good use of the stalker, in which case you'd trim out the Lychguard probably. Anyway, hope this gives you a start point.
