I'm putting my first predator together and I got stumped! I didn't expect to do the interior....a rhino sure, but not on a tank! I'm thinking I'm just going to glue the hatch in the back and not paint inside, but before I do that I wanted to find out what dakka does. Do you guys do the interiors on preds too?

I haven't painted any of my tanks yet, but all my rhinos are magnetized so I can make a predator, razorback, whirlwind or vindicator on the rhino chassis. So all mine will be painted, but looking around on Dakka, seems a lot just glue it all up so you can't see in it.

If you are going to paint just to table top standard, I would glue it, but if you are going to go above and beyond table top standard, I would paint the interior. Just my opinion.

If you can't see inside it - then, no I don't bother doing them.

If you CAN see inside them, then I paint them. But I also usually light them up, too.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Since the models don't fit inside a tank, there is no reason to paint it.

All of mine (not many with Grey Knights) are glued closed.

I suppose I'm just going table top...and I'm not magnetizing, so my thought was that since the predator 'sacrifices troop carrying capacity' that it's interior wouldn't look the same as a rhino anyways....

That is a good point you made wikkedj, I would glue it shut then, and paint it.

I have also glued my tanks closed. (Although I've saved some of the interior parts separately, with the intention of eventually incorporating them into terrain/objectives).

I have all but one that will be painted. Pretty basic. Black, grey line highlighting, and some color here and there.

The best painted army wins, not gonna let the inside of my tanks cause me to lose.

My Predator is the only bit of mech I have that the interior isn't painted. Even though people rarely look in, I know it's there, and it means more to me.

My logic was, people aren't running in and out of the Predator like they are other vehicles. Maybe the rear hatch opens, but I think more like current tanks, where they'd exit/enter via the hatches so glued it shut.

As you've already said, the interior detail on the kit isn't appropriate for how the interior of the predator would look, so painting it actually detracts from the overall effect, imo.

I am currently taking commissions.

Yeah...think I'm going to glue it shut. Again if I was magnetizing I'd do it...and I will on my transports...of course now I'm wondering what I COULD do to convert the interior, lol!

I found this article, which is really neat (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2012/02/40k-conversion-corner-predator-with.html), but wit the bitz business getting gakked I don't know if I will be able to find what I want!

Briancj is mental enough to do fully detailed Predator internals... but then he also made an Ordinatus.

Personally I glue mine shut.
