Newish to the game and playing some Dark Eldar, can anyone offer improvements to this list?

- Drop the fists on the tacs (overpriced and you'll likely never get to use them since they are at Init 1)

- Give your Tacs meltas instead of Heavy Bolters to take better advantage of vulkan

- I don't like Dev squads personally. They're wau overpriced for what you get. Drop it ad add more sternguard or another Tac squad instead.

- I like the TFC. I like the Stormtalons. At 1850 you seem low on troops.

*caveat : I've not played against DE personally and I don't know what you need to go against them. These opinions are based on general C: SM experience*

No thats helpful, I generally agree with devestators... the setup I have is 170points while a predator with full las is like 160 I think... however troops are easier to drop in cover and more targets to shoot I suppose.

What do people think of dropping in two land speeders with meltas instead of dread? Does this work out? Is it viable? I would have vulkan for re-rolls

The Twilight Zone

Against DE, fire weapons are fantastic and melta weapons are a bit overkill. The strongest armor DE can field is 11 and it is on an open topped model. So long as you pin you should destroy it.

Granted, DE armor will usually have night shields and possibly have flickerfields. The former reduces your range by 6"(This decreases when melta kicks in, when rapid fire hits, etc) and the latter gives a 5+ invul save. Their skimmers are best brough down by mid strength mass fire with a 4' range. Even with the night shields, DE are generally limited to 3' range for shooting so you will be able to shoot them if they can shoot you with your lascannons, missiles, autocannons etc.

Agree about dropping the powerfist. DE are very fast in combat and if you are fighting a DE assault unit your dead anyway. Against shooty DE your going to win without needing it. Most have poor armor and T3, or some kind of invul. The fist will help if you find yourself in combat with a talos, but you should be able to cut it down before that happens. You probably want another scoring unit and transportation for them.

Sternguard are good, consider more, or another squad with combi flamers, or 10, 5 of each weapon and combat squad out of the pod.

A dread is okay for range, I would advise against speeders as the main AT weapon for DE is S8 AP2, so they will die fast. They can catch the fast DE skimmers and maybe nuke them, but better hope you get the first shot.

A land raider is a very easy target for DE to deal with, although the crusader can shoot a lot which helps. Since DE have lance weapons just about everywhere it is no more durable than an Av12 tank. Very expensive and will probably be targeted, leaving your assault termiantors in the open. Which, again are overkill. I know you have vulkan but I would bring more fire. The TH/SS are just going to eat poison and drop, but the shields do help negate the Ap2 heavy weapons.

Pred is good, just keep it out of lance range.

A TFC is a bit of a mixed bag. The gun is great against DE but DE are also good against the gun. T7 does not matter to an army loaded to the teeth with poisoned shooting.

Agreed with the doctor, mid strength mass fire is definitely the way to go against de. Dreads with dual auto cannons are a nightmare for de to deal with, so I would advise getting at least two of those preferably three. That will take care of most of your AT needs, so you can focus on other things.

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
