Hey guys! I am a very new play and am currently assembling my first CSM army. I recently acquired 10 raptors equip with two meltaguns and an asp with a power fist. I have one more melta bit to put somewhere and I was wondering if it was unwise to place that last meltagun on the asp with the powerfist. Is that a squandering of points? Also, this is what else I have so far. I was thinking on exchanging my Chaos lord with Typhus and proxying my CSM for plague Marines and cultists for Zombie cultists. Any tips or tactics would be greatly appreciated as I am very new at this

HQ:
Chaos Lord

Heavy Support:
x3 Obliterators

x10 CSM equip with 2 plasma guns and a Combi-Plas w/Rhino Transport

Aspiring champions in general don't use powerfists anymore, due to the champion of chaos rule, they will most of the time be in challenge and therefore with a PF striking at a lower initiative than usual giving other characters with higher I and maybe even AP3 a good chance of killing yours before he can swing. I'd leave it with a power sword or lightning claw. I'm not sure that you can give a melta to the champion actually I'm 80% you can only give them combi-weapons as ranged weaponry so... save that melta for another unit.

Raptors with melta work ok, I run 15 with MoN, IoV and 2 meltas they have proven worthy of the spot, even thou bikers and spawns might be better, if you like the models or the theme go for it.

CSM 10k points
IG 3k points
Orks 2k points
WoC 3.5k points
VC 2.5k points

I run 15 with Mark of Khorne, Icon of Wrath, 2 Flamers, and Dual Lighting Claws (occasionally a melta bomb).

You really cant go wrong with 60+ attacks on the charge

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

Your army looks light on anti tank, so from what you have, melta raptors seem smart.

You can bring the power fist but just try to stay away from engaging anything that can challenge your champion and win. Hunt armor or ranks of light infantry.

He's right, I've replaced all my champions PF's with other options after only a few games. The only one that still has a PF is the chosen dude that came in the Dark Vengeance box.

For weapons I would go with a single LC
if not that a power maul

a power fist....dropping to init 1 and costing so many points. Not for a T4 model....

I wish this wasn't so incredibly true for something that looks so cool on a model.
