So, I would really like to use this guy as a Khorne DP in my Daemon army...

Thing is, I want to make him winged, as DPs are most useful when flying, and can't decide from 3 options..

1) mount them on his shoulders/back as if he was bipedal
Like this

2) mount them on the top of his lower half, somewhere between the two pairs of legs, in a more typical dragon fashion

A la

3) leave a fabulous sculpt untouched, and simply explain away his unusual speed by virtue of his extra limbs

Now, I'm leaning towards option 1, using some plastic GW dragon wings or possibly Balrog (that's a 100mm base he's on, so he needs some big wings!) but I would be interested to hear other views on positioning, and if you can think of some alternate wings that would suit better, I'd be interested to hear that too.

I'd either replace his front legs with bat-like wings/add leathery flaps to the current ones, or place the wings above the front leg's shoulders.

Or repose it to look like it's leaping through the air.

Or counts-as Skarbrand.

By the way, where did you get that wonderful model?

I won't be buying him until I've settled on a plan, but he is available from

Just one of many excellent potential counts as models, with more in the pipeline.

How about remodelling the limbs into pterodactyl style wings, with a wing membrane stretched between them.
Something like this

Another option: Add two sets of wings with one set smaller.

But i'd probably use your second idea as it is more "realistic looking". The wings are closer on the center of gravity of this beast and i think that would look better and less off center.
