What exactly are you envisioning for a 'snow paint scheme'?

If it were me?
I would do a light grey or khaki for the coats with a darker grey for the uniform proper.
'Snow' paint schemes tend to be very bright and take advantage of the fact that you have the glare of the sun shining off of the snow to aid you in concealment...but at the same time any movement or difference in shades are highly noticeable.
By using a light grey or khaki, you get a good balance between the two and a shade that would believably blend into a field of pure snow.
To give a good example? Look at the Rebel forces on Hoth in "The Empire Strikes Back". They use a nice cream color for the majority of the uniform and white/grey for the rest of the uniform.

I would do a black for the boots so that the model does not blend together too much.
Cannot really suggest paints as I use older GW or Vallejo Model Air paints for the most part.

Actually I just apply the Vallejo Model Air colors by brush for the most part.
It looks quite nice even by brush.

Lots of grey, in lots of different tones. These can then easily be broken up by the gas masks, boots etc. Dull metalic for the chest plates, helmet and other metals, light grey for the greatcoat (make it look well worn and used), darker grey for the other clothes, light browns for the masks, very dark grey for the boots.
Just a really quick simple run down of a basic snow/nuclear wasteland type scheme, but works well on most futuristic/not-fantasy models.

Weathering powders are a great way to weather/wear a model but washes can work quite well too.

Weathering a grey coat can be as simple as taking a lighter grey or possibly white, and carefully drybrushing over the areas that would be weathered the most, mainly the bottom, as if it's been dragging through snow.

Take a bright red paint and an old toothbrush.
Load the toothbrush up heavily thinned down paint and stand roughly a foot away from the models (set the models in a group and at angles based upon how you want the blood spatters to hit) and then using your thumb 'flick' the bristles of the brush.
Needless to say this is very messy and is best done in a box to prevent it getting all over the place.

Yeah, I like the idea. And leadbelcher is also a reasonably dull metal. If you don't have either mixing a little black or dark grey with a lighter metalic could work.

i've taken to a winter scheme to my DKOK guys, i use just GW Grey (4 shades) paints for them so i can paint in store without being ejected. I've gone for white helmets and will be weathering the edges to give it that battleworn look. I'll be home in a few days so anticipate i'll be posting a few pictures up from wednesday onwards as i've sat them in the dark too long and they need some critique

Hey pwn'd those kriegers that you linked, those are mine. the way I went about painting the coats was a progression from a base coat of codex grey, layered on fortress grey, and then a highlight of a 1:1 off white:fortress grey. The metals were boltgun washed with Babbab black.

The pants themselves are still just codex grey, highlighted fortress and washed with black in the recesses. The bindings on the lower legs, the gloves, face mask, and straps are as you said picked out in khaki, and washed with ogryn flesh. The boots and belt are snakebite leather washed with devlin mud.
