My current meta has a lot of necron players and I have taken a passing interest in them. The players at my store pretty much run cron air lists with ghost arc and annihilation barge support. Honestly I hate running more than one flyer in an army. I decided to run a rather unique list for my meta. The idea behind my list is to actually get into close combat quickly to shut down threats to my scoring units and barges. Being necrons I didn't worry about a great deal of dedicated anti tank weapons and instead focused on volume of fire. Please tell me what you think. Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks in advance.

I think that the list provides a great deal of targets right off the bat to make the opponent have to worry about not being able to handle everything coming at once. The D-Lord join the wraiths to form a rock hard, fast close combat unit. The scarabs will be on the enemy in turn two pinning down squads or eating vehicles. The barges provide a lot of fire support and the C'tan can take squads by himself but is also hard to kill at range. Plus his special abilities make him a threat to tanks and makes the enemy moving through cover a pain.

To start with, I like the list.

The C'Tan is a bit slow, and dies to volume of fire pretty quickly. So, walking him up the board is a bit of a risk. To mitigate this I suggest you drop one anni barge and a warrior and put in three spyders instead.

The advantage of this is that you'll be able to spawn additional scarabs plus you'll also have three additional MC walking up the board supporting the first wave. Hopefully, the three spyders will draw some of the fire.

With the C'Tan, I'm not sure that WW is the best power here especially as you can't add tremorteks. Something to give him a little shooting punch may be more appropriate.

The thunderbolt is 24" Str 9 AP 2. Doesn't that constitute about the best shooting threat he can get? I also like the fact that he has the ability to much with cover all over the board. The people in my meta tend to use a lot of cover and making it painful for them I think would be a good idea. However I do like the idea of giving the C'tan a bit of cover with a squad of spyders. Ill look into that.

Sorry, got confused with the labyrinth thingy. S9AP2 is fine!

I like the list. I might want try a C'Tan with my Necron CC List. I usually run 2 Destroyer Lords and 2 squads of wraiths. One lord per squad. And Spyders really are a pain for the enemy to deal with. What I do is take a 10 man and a 3 man squad of scarabs and keep the 3 man scarabs squad by the spyders, slowly advancing up the board in cover while the 10 man squad sprints into CC. By round three the 3 man squad is now around 10 scarabs deep and I have them jump into the fray and pull back another squad of scarabs and start to replenish that one. I usually go double FOC to pull that off.

Also, to free up some points but allow you to take a double FOC you might want to drop the arks and take 4 5-man squads in scythes. Though, if I go complete melee I tend to take 4 5-man squads and park them buy an objective and use all my other points to kill the opponent's troop choices and contest their objectives. I don't recommend this, though. Its not tactically sound but sure is a lot of fun to play.
