Is there a place where the ork Mega-Dread has the 40k apporved stamp.
The Meka-dread has it but it can only be in an army with a Mega dread
IA v8 doesn't have the stamp nor does imperial apoc 2

is there another place i am missing?

I believe that both of those books were produced before Forge World started using the "Approved for 40k" stamps on unit entries.

Well since the IA book listed with the model http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Orks/ORK_INFANTRY_AND_WALKERS/ORK-MEGA-DREAD.html is IA8 (which I don't have to check) and you say that it doesn't carry the stamp, I'd guess that means no. In it's most current rules, it does not.

The only things that aint 40k approved in IA8 is the gargantum squiggot(if that was the name of the biggest one) and the stompa + tanks with structure points.

yeah the Meka dread in then apoc book has the 40k stamp but it says it can only be brought if you have a mega dread in the army. I sent a question to the tourney organizer to see if i am screwed.

If you look at what is approved for 40k and what is approved for apocalypse, it's pretty obvious that Apoc only is super heavies, gargantuan creatures, and formation data sheets.

A Mega Dread is none of these. Also, look at my post. I believe that IA:8 came out before they started doing the "Approved for 40k stamp". Just because its from an older book doesn't mean it should have a blanket ban.

Also, when dealing with TOs, it's important how you frame your question. If you use a defeatist tone, then it's super easy from him to just say no.

If i recall correctly the stompa and the other things as the kill krushas got the stamps too, but they are again only apoc allowed. The IA8 doesnt directly have the real 40k approved stamp as the new ones. iv'e seen the mega dread been used before in a normal game, then again. *shrug* You can allways hear with FW by mail, they answear rule questions aslong you refer with page etc.

Dakkamite already did that:

It's heavy support choice for Codex: Orks armies.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Hi Keith,

All our 40K models are approved for normal 40K games. We only started stamping the models in books recently to try and enforce that they are approved. The Mega Dread is stamped in our latest IA Apocalypse book which is out very soon.

here is their reply. just waiting on TO to approve

Yeah, but the stamp does gak if they don't provide in which part of the force organization chart it goes. The grot rokkit launcher has been stamped 40k ever since they invented those stamps, but since you don't know whether it's elite, fast attack or heavy support, you simply can't field it.
