Let's say I have a looted wagon with a boomgun. It's deployed right behind my ork unit facing the unit. On my turn I roll a 1 for don't press dat. I then proceede to move the wagon straight ahead but stop after 1" because I hit an allied unit. The question then is: can I still shoot my boomgun since I only moved 1" in the moving phase.

I see no problem, the boomgun is ordnance, vehicles can move and fire.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Ork faq

Q. If a Looted Wagon rolls a ‘1’ for “Don’t Press Dat”, but is unable
to complete its move (or even to move at all) because it is blocked by
something it cannot move through (friendly models, etc), does it still
count as having moved for the purposes of shooting? (p54)
A. Yes,regardless of how farit actually moves, the Wagon
always counts as having moved at cruising speed.

Would be nice if you were right though, looted wagon kinda needs help nowadays with the addition of allies (IG beinging a couple LRBTs in a unit will cost more yes, but not that much more and are far more survivable/better range and same strength/ap. Also gives you an excuse for a BS5 dude manning a quad or icarus since you need an HQ choice)

D'oh should have looked at the FAQ, I stand corrected.
I only ever use them as a transport.

Eh? Wth for? I'd rather just run any cool conversions i got as Trukks since its perfectly legal anyway lol especially since noone can take it as a dedicated transport (Boyz = Trukks only, Nobz/MANz = BW or Trukks) and 180pts of kannons is too awesome to pass up lol

I guess that clears it up pretty good.

so snap shots with big shootas is all you get on the turn they press dat.

Not the answer I hoped for though

Regarding looted wagon as transport, I guess it will only be relevant for units that cannot take a trukk as dedicated. Since you can't buy trukks as non dedicated.

Oh you can, but they take up a troop slot and are nonscoring since theyre a vehicle....thus DONT DO THAT lol

I use one for my Burna Boys as I can mount a skorcha on it.

That's still better than GTA'ing a trukk, so it's kind of valid if you don't need one of your heavy support slots for some magic reason. There is little reason not to get them a battlewagon though, outside of fielding a cool conversion.

Rule of cool is sometimes more important than effectiveness on the board.

Does the Ork army list allow you to buy empty Trukks? this is not usually allowed in my experience.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

You really can't.

You can buy a trukk with an ork unit deploying next to it, and embark your models turn 1. That's what I meant with "GTA'ing". Since you have to buy a mostly useless unit to do that, bumping the price of the trukk to 100 points, a battlewagon is always the better choice
