I'm not really sure what a Hive World is.
I was just wondering.
Thanks in advance

It all depends on which part of the Hive you're living in. The higher up you are the better it is, the Underhive/Sump would be pretty awful

As shown in the link above a hive world is a rather unpleasnt place to live, unless you are one of the very few whom dwell up high. For the common man/woman/child life is harsh, without any form of hope and you can expect to die young or be killed in some sort of industerial acident. if you do not get drafted into the PDF/Guard that is

Life on a hive world is like a broken pencil.

Short and utterly pointless.

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

Hive worlds tend to have huge manufacturing reserves, so the point of life on a hive world is to provide for your fellow man elsewhere in the Imperium. Seems like a noble calling to me

It's basically like living in modern-day Detroit, if Detroit rose 25 kilometers into the sky and descended 40 kilometers into the Earth.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
