just FYI, I have played around with the psyker bomb in the chimera, and its not as good as you would think...

failing your LD test for powers happens a lot,
10 bolter henchmen vs 5 psykers, the bolters win every time.


bolter henchmen are one of the best troops ever... take more of them over the pyskers

Bolter henchmen are more consistent, but 6 psykers, strength 8 AP 1 large blast are *SCARY*. I know they won't work all the time (more like half the time), but they're definitely a threat to high value targets. If the enemy shoots at them because they are scary, good, then my other stuff won't take as much fire. If the enemy ignores them, the occasional S8 Ap1 blast could ruin his day. At least that's the idea lol.

You probably want 2 jokero toguarantee a good result on the chart.

Not sure why special weapon acolytes are in a razorback, they'd have to get out to shoot at anything and then they'd die because they have no protection, unless they're a suicide melta squad or something.

Henchmen psykers are... idk, not that good imo. Perils = they all die, leadership 8 means they only have a bit over a 70% chance of successfully casting the power, then they still have to scatter the template leading to more chance of failure and ontop of that the opponent gets a deny the witch roll.

Prob want psybolt on the strike squad, str 5 glances armor 11, which a lot of high value targets (night scythes, back armor of A barges, front of rhinos/razorbacks, etc.) are.

Not trying to troll here but "Pure GK" typically refers to the use of Grey Knights only...just the PAGK and TAGK.

I do love seeing a hellrifle though!

After facing an army of these buggers I have to attest to their ineffectiness...a few are good...just get a decent blast...but the strong one just isnt worth the points....LD7 right? 58% chance of it even going off before you have to roll to hit.

Actually I think the math on it is a good bit less than half, though I'm not certain of the exact values. But Ld8 and BS3 is not scary one bit. And a single perils does away with that.

We're not saying don't do it.

I think the idea is fun for sure...but is it competetive?...not so much...damage ouput always needs to be weighed against cost (which is your argument), durability, likelihood of causing damage, delivery, and I am sure there are other factors as well.

3 Terminators can get nuked by 3 solo Fire Dragons...66points...but are they likely to get there?...nope

If you're taking the psykers...I would take less of them per squad and get some warriors in there too..if only so there's models that cant fry their own brains for objective games

Ductvader, henchmen psykers have a 36 inch range and can fire on the move from inside a vehicle. Your Fire Dragon example is very very strange if that is supposed to apply to what I am talking about here.

Durability for henchmen inside a vehicle is ok, delivery concerns are slight (long range). With that in mind, almost the entire concern is their rate of fire and accuracy. They are inconsistent, true. But if they weren't inconsistent they would be very undercosted for the firepower they bring.
