Hello all, I had a dream about build ingan entire army of zombies and one Typhus, mostly as i have a large vampire counts army I dont play anymore. But i appear to have been thwarted by the rules. Big T's special rule for turning cultist units into zombies prevents the unit from taking any options, as extra men is an option this limits each squad to 10 men. 6 troop choices is 60 zombies, but that's hardly a proper horde!
Looking about a bit I see a lot of army lists using units of 20+, have I missed something in how I read Typhus?

They covered this on their FAQ. Zombie units can't take any options, except more zombies.

And to add to that, you really don't need 60 zombies, your troops section should be made up of plague marines, which are no longer elites, when you take Typhus.

That said, if you want to run 180 zombies, knock yourself out. Just make sure you have a very patient opponent

Does Nekrosius from IA work with the new zombies? What did he do... gave them all furious charge iirc?

Cheers, I had not realised that book had been faked already! 180 zoms sounds like a lot of fun! We play a lot of team games and I thinking of making a very thematic army which could be played against multiple players with kill teams.

I would like to pop in here and pose a few ideas to you that may interest you and your Kill Tean ideas and such. These were given ti me when I asked about making a Zombie list myself.

-Try including Mutilators in your list, they very easily represent "Mutant" zombies like the Tank from Left 4 Dead.
-A unit of 15-20 Space Marines with their Bolters replaced with Ccws can be used for Zombie Astartes if you want some variety o your paint jobs. Paint each fron a different chapter like Deathwatch.
-If you need a Fast Attack element, then go for Spawn. They easily fit into the Zombie scene.

This idea is more scenario-driven:
Try convincing a friend to bring an army that's maller than yours (say you bring 2000 points, he only gets 750), but your friend can take Elites in place of Troops. Let the Zombie Survival begin 3

Oh yeah, and don't be afraid to mix in zombified Orks, Tau, and etc into the mix for variety. Hope this helps.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

Good choice. I too am considering a Zombie force. But instead of using that many just adding to my existing Chaos force.

Easy to make using WH Zombies mixed with Cadians, about 10 minutes to wash to putrescence

There's also the hard plastic zombies coming with the Mantic Deadzone kickstarter, and retail shortly after. This is an early render of one of them.
