Having watched it: I don't think its the most embarrassing interview I've ever seen on TV, let alone the most embarrassing on Fox.
And as a side note, I'd love to have him as a lecturer/tutor. If he taught in the areas I'm interested in that is. He has an easy to listen to voice, far more so than most of my current lecturers.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
The only way that interview would have gone any differently would be if he spontaneously converted to Christianity on-air, declared Young Earth Creationism to be the one true path and began fellating a crucifix whilst wrapped in the American flag. Otherwise, no possible answer could have changed how that sad play went.
Also: he almost derailed the whole bigot train with his Reagan-baiting.

Wow, she got served near the end. As a Portuguese I don't have fox news, but I'm beginning to understand why there's so much "poking fun" at it around the interwebz

This is an alright one from Aus. Its just the first link that I found, so ignore the 'beats him with the truth' thing. He's the leader of the opposition at the moment, and until recently he was likely to sweep the elections. In the past month it has become a bit of a toss up, but until recently he was going to just blitz it.
And red, that mans voice seems made for telling people off, he has that perfect tone for a teacher or something along those lines.

For once in the past 4 odd weeks I'm actually glad I'm in China for half the summer, so I don't have to watch the video (seeing as how Youtube isn't a thing over here).
Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

Boring. Let's do this again with good old, O'reilly. Now there is an entertainer who knows how to make a show out of ignorant belligerence. I mean certainly it's nice to see someone on the ol' fox news get a trouncing, but not really as interesting as watching them spout out some of the more colorful insanity that channel has been known to produce.

Boom goes the dynamite! is the enthusiastic catchphrase coined by Ball State University sportscaster Brian Collins while covering the March 22, 2005[1] NBA game between the Indiana Pacers and New Jersey Nets. The phrase can be heard as Pacers shooting guard Fred Jones hits a 3 with 2:03 left in the first quarter.
During his freshman year, Collins agreed to appear on Ball State University's campus newscast in place of the regular sportscaster, who was ill. The teleprompter was operational, but an inexperienced operator accidentally fast-forwarded through the script, leaving Collins with no choice but to ad-lib most of his script.[2] Eventually posted on YouTube, the newscast is now known as "the Collins incident" in communications classes.[2][3]
Collins' sportscast was also featured on television and radio throughout the country and earned him an appearance on The Late Show (hosted by Ball State alumnus David Letterman).[4]
A trademark application on the phrase was filed but ultimately abandoned by a San Diego-based speculator who offered it on t-shirts, saying that part of the proceeds would go to a scholarship fund at Ball State for journalism students.[5]
ESPN SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt sent Collins words of encouragement and paid homage to him using the "boom" catchphrase on the air several times.[2]
In 2009, the Fox Sports program Best Damn Sports Show Period called the clip the #1 biggest "sports blooper" in all of televised sports reporting history.
Collins, among other internet stars, is set to star in the upcoming film The Chronicles of Rick Roll.[6]
OT Also there was interview on MPR with Richard Dawkins (who is an atheist) which I count as cringeworthy, the host doing the interview (Kerri Miller) was downright hostile and condescending.
Jesus features pretty prominently in Muslim theology. He's just not the headliner he is in Christianity (to wit: "a" prophet, not "the" Prophet, and certainly not the Messiah).
I love the author's attitude during the interview though. He's not taking any guff.

Haters gon' hate.
I'm still trying to puzzle out how the broadcaster thought that what was obviously some kind of Muslim witch-hunt was going to fly in the first place. Did she just assume he would sit there and let her basically call him a liar and use his religion as a derogatory term?
On a side note regarding Richard Dawkins: Yes, he is a total jerk in pretty much every format I've had the displeasure to experience him in.

You have heard of Fox "News" before haven't you?

He can certainly come across just as bad as anyone "on the other side" when he gets worked up, which is unfortunate. The interview with him above unfortunately stopped after about 15 minutes so I did not get to hear the whole thing but I though he was behaving reasonably well.
Reza Aslan is an interesting fellow. He writes some stuff I totally disagree with (indeed some of his work borders on conspiracy theory level of weird) but he does so in a way that is really fun to read about. This doesn't surprise me at all. His ability to stand his ground and be cordial doesn't surprise me at all. He's a smart guy and even if you don't agree with his positions his work is worth reading just for the journey. His book on the origins of Islam is a really good intro piece to the subject for the uninitiated, and personally I find the idea of reading a Muslim take on Jesus interesting in itself, so why berate him for it?
It's okay Fox News, we're not disappointed. This is exactly what we were expecting

Because it's not "a Muslim take on Jesus"; it's a guy's take on Jesus, and the guy happens to be a Muslim. Big, big difference, and kinda Aslan's entire point.
I say 'Muslim take on Jesus' because I'm familiar with Riza Aslan (even when not writing about Muslims, he has a very distinct Muslim lense) EDIT: Of course I'm pretty sure Fox has never heard of him. They probably stopped reading his bio when they saw the word Muslim and probably have never read any of his work. The books is about how Palestine at that time period shaped Jesus' ministry which he's spoken of before and he has a very bizarre (in an interesting way mind you) view of the region at the time period. Imagine a jihadist organization as a geographic area with Jews and you'll get the idea. And I actually say this as a positive thing. I think it'll be an interesting book when I get around to it.

Yes, I'm very familiar with Fox [title portion redacted for inaccuracy], but I just keep thinking that maybe some way, somehow, it might actually start being a network that holds itself to some standard instead of catering to a xenophobic lowest common denominator audience (or at least that seems to be their target demographic). It'll probably never, ever happen, but it's still a nice hope. Until then I'll probably just keep trying to dig up news from outlets that use things like facts and logic.

He most certainly is, even in Islam. He just isn't the Son of God, which makes a slight difference...

Ah, you know what, I conflated the term "Messiah" with the whole "Son of God" bit.
You're right.
