Hi guys, so up until a year ago I was going pretty good with painting.. really got the basics down and started pumping out some good looking minis but had to stop due to an OE. Now, I'm returning home and looking to get back into it.. gonna pick up some paints before I return to NZ (unless someone knows of free worldwide shipping on Vallejo sets?) and get into it a bit more seriously.

Now, Dakka is a great resource and everything and I've read through the guides pinned here but are there any sites that are like.. better? Not to put down Dakka at all but I'm wanting guides on things like using a wet palette, blending on the mini, OSL, NMM etc. It would help a lot to know what paints/brushes I should be looking at getting as well, from what I've read VMA is good for a more militaristic approach but I'm more of an Eldar kinda guy so VMC is also tempting.. but yea if I can find a good guides resource I can figure out what kind of paints I will be needing

Don't really wanna touch airbrushing yet.. I'm not worthy!

But yea there must be some good sites out there that I am unable to find so what better way to find out than to ask the community!

Thanks in advance,
C

Youtube is the best source for painting guides. Throw in a search for whatever you want and you should get something. Subscribe to some of the great guys and gals such as BuyPainted, WGConsortium, Ichibanpainting, Girlpainting, Orcpainternerd, Awesomepaintjob.

Could also look at Buypainteds subscription site which has a lot of excellent tutorials.

Massive Voodoo is a great site.

Also, I love VMA, for everything, although the range can be limited. I just pick up a VMC/VGC?P3/GW pot when I need particular colour not provided by VMA.

I too must promote MWG. Kris Belleau is a great painter and I enjoy his tutorials very much.
