I recently bought Dark Vengeance at my LFGS and after opening the box I realized that I was missing a bunch of minis, but I had some extra that I normally wouldn't have gotten.
So Dakka should I contact GW directly so they'd send me the missing ones (And would I get to keep the extras?) or should I just return it to my LFGS and get a regular full set?

I ended up getting 4 sprues with 9 cultists, 1 Chosen, 4 Dark Angels, a bike and a Terminator, so I'm missing quite a few guys but at the same time getting some extra dude.

I'm curious about anyone's dealing with issues like this and how GW deals with these situations.

I would just contact GW and explain what happened.

Just 4 of the same one that has Cultists, bolter SMs, a bike and a Chosen.

DO NOT EMAIL. We may criticize GW, but one thing GW has is EXCELLENT customer service. CALL the 1 800 right away or tomorrow when they are open (since they should be closed now as time of writing).

Tell them what happened, and they should just give you the replacement sprues, if not, a complete box set. Usually when something is missing they just replace the entire thing.

I had a problem with a finecast venomthrope. I just wanted to let them know, and they gave me a replacement venomthrope to no charge to me.

So call them up, explain it, and if not getting a new box set, they will replace the sprues. They usually put their money where there mouth is.

Please let us know what happens.

Dang it, I just emailed them before your reply Davor, but I will also give them a call tomorrow, hoping things go well and will let Dakka know what happens.

GW's customer service is excellent. I had something similar happen to me with an old AoBR set; was missing half of the Captain and parts from some of the Boyz. I called GW and got replacements fast.

A friend of mine bought a demon prince of ebay and it came with three legs and one arm. He called up GW and they sent him an entire demon prince.

Yeah, GW customer service is great.

So after I emailed them they responded very quickly and sent out the replacement sprures which I got today (Five days, or three business days) but instead of sending what I didn't have, (most of the set and four copies of one sprue) they sent me another of the same sprue. Hopefully they'll send the correct sprues this time...

I bought a Reaper Bolt Thrower for my Dark Elves once that had an extra crewman and was short one weapon arm, I ended up shrugging and declaring one of the crewmen a Sorceress and the other two Assassins 'cause they looked the part.

Just got off the phone with GW myself. My DV set was missing the Hellbrute tree but had an extra DA one. I was only on hold for a few minutes. Gave the guy on the line the #'s off what I had and he said the missing sprue will go out in the morning. He told me to keep the extra tree and I should see the missing parts next week in the mail. One of the easiest transactions with any customer service I've ever had. I'll update when I get my parts.

Damn....I called GW about 4pm Thursday about having the missing parts. The part came in today! Awesome service!

Finally got the correct frames a day ago, kind of annoying that they sent the wrong frame first, but hey, I got some free minis.
